That is a formidable top 9 and the depth with Lavoie is certainly intriguing aswell. If they can work on the D on the practices this should be able to get them over the hump. I think you sacrifice multiple picks now to make this team good enough to win it all. It is now or never.

I'd rather keep Ehlers. And if he's on the trade block, I think there's a better return elsewhere.

This team is only slightly better then they were this last year, also probably very unlikely Bouchard takes that cheap of a contract.

What's wrong with that contract isn't the money but the term -- 4 years brings him straight to free agency at its end. Better to bridge him for two seasons or sign him for 7 or 8.
