Description
Draft whoever is left between Michkov, Smith, and Carlsson. I anticipate it will be Michkov. Target Thomas Milic with a later draft pick and sign him to an ECHL-AHL deal, good insurance in case Primeau gets nabbed on waivers.

I think the habs should try to pry Lafreniere away from the rangers, they are tight with the salary cap so he might be available if they want to keep Kane or Tarasenko. Instead of Romanov for Dach this time it's Harris + a late first for Lafreniere. Not sure what his value might be, if they aren't careful a team could try an offersheet at $4,201,487 (2nd Round Pick Compensation).

Calgary is in cap trouble, a Tanev / Edmundson swap makes sense as they are similar players. Tanev is RD which MTL needs for next season and Edmundson at 50% saves Calgary $2.75M in cap space which is desperately needed for them. Habs can flip Tanev at the deadline assuming they aren't making the playoffs.

I'm assuming the price tag on Dubois will be too much, might have to just try sign him as a UFA next season. If Lafreniere and Dubois cost too much my backup play would be taking Mantha as a cap dump, allowing Washington to bring back Orlov. Not sure what the caps would be willing to give up but I think there's a deal to be made there.

A lot of options this offseason for MTL, gonna be interesting to see which direction Hughes goes.

Chris Tanev is a much better player than Eddy. I'd think thered be more value going Calgary's way and I'm a Habs fan

Why is Calgary adding a pick? Montreal should be adding the second.

There is an Athletic support episode that came out last night where they interview Jordan Harris. Listen to that episode and then tell me if you are still open to trading the kid. I can't believe how poised he is at his age. He's gonna be a really good player in a few years. We should hold onto him.

Dach wasn't traded for Romanov, he was traded for the 11th overall pick. Sure this is a better draft class but Lafreniere was a better prospect than Dach and has better value now than Dach did last season.

Dach played regularly in Chicago's top 6, had more TOI and PP TOI, yet was still outproduced, especially at 5v5 by Laf.
