I always thought that Pionk was more of an offensive D and not strong defensively. Then why should we trade for him at all?

If I’m the Jets in taking this and running. Get a 2nd back for nino. Dumping Wheeler and Pionk for decent assets and getting Olofsson. This would be a home run for the Jets

pionk plays the 2nd most minutes among d-men. How do you plan on replacing those mins? Hes more valuable to the jets than a dump. Plus olofsson isn't good, he's just a powerplay weapon.

Pionk isn’t very good. And the Jets need to retool and bring in some youth. Promote schmidt and give Heinola/Chisholm a chance to play full time.

Sure pionk isn’t as good as the role he is in, but do you really think heinola or chisholm will grow into that role any time soon? Leaves the jets with a big hole, even if you’re retooling. So no need to sell him off low. That’s not good asset management. You can make room for heinola/chisholm without moving pionk
