I’d be okay with this return. But wonder if we can get Chatfield instead somehow

I don’t hate this. Sens get someone back for next year that can play on our middle six, and some draft capital that makes up for some of what we traded for. Lassi needs to be traded so I don’t mind him being included.

If the Sens can sign DeBrincat for 8x8.25 I think we will sign that though.

This is such a bad trade for the Canes. Cat had a bad year by Cat standards. He's got a 9 million QO or something. Teuvo had half the point totals and is going to be cheaper in the long term. Including Teuvo needs to be an instant non-starter. Cat is not worth core pieces of a contender. It's why he was traded for scraps a year ago.

That offer is a joke, Detroit would blow away that by a country mile to bring Cat home.

Let me know when a top 10 pick was ever moved. It’s so rare because it’s so valuable

DeBrincat is an underperforming winger who looked mediocre when he was taken away from Patrick Kane for the first time in his career, not to mention Teravainen is also streets ahead defensively and importantly, has a contract. Did you forget that Cat is an RFA with a stupid QO?

if DeBrincat doesn’t hit 25 posts this season then everybody is calling him a superstar with 4 first rounders. and his QO is only for a year, doesn’t mean he’ll demand anything like that for a long term deal

He had a downyear and still had 66pts. And he was unlucky when it came to scoring. He will rebound

If Debrincat struggles in a fore checking system as others have said, he won’t work with us

You can say he should, but there's also an element of now not having Kane on his wing. His shooting percentage wasn't even low, it was 10.3%. Considering he had been at 15% the year prior, I'd make the argument this is what he is.

Norris was injured and he played with Greig, Pinto and Brassard all year. And he didn’t have chemistry with anyone and changed cities so it was hard on him

So what you're claiming is that DeBrincat is not good enough to drive a line on his own? That's exactly what that proves and it's what the stats suggest
