Trades
1.
WPG
  1. Vanecek, Vitek
  2. 2024 1st round pick (NJD)
  3. 2025 2nd round pick (NJD)
NJD
  1. Hellebuyck, Connor
Additional Details:
Ultimately, Hellebuyck only has a year left, so Winnipegs hands are tied. Will have to take the best offer available. Will need a goalie too, so Vanecek likely comes back so NJ can run Hellebuyck/Schmid.
2.
WPG
  1. 2023 1st round pick (COL)
  2. 2024 1st round pick (COL)
COL
  1. Ehlers, Nikolaj
Additional Details:
Moosehead connection with MacKinnon? While I can't see two Central teams making a deal, I could definitely see Colorado kicking tires on Ehlers with Landeskog gone. Odds are he was gonna walk in FA anyways during a rebuild, better to cash in now.
3.
WPG
  1. 2023 1st round pick (MIN)
  2. 2025 3rd round pick (MIN)
MIN
  1. Scheifele, Mark
Additional Details:
Again with the Central teams, but Minnesota desperately needs a 1C if they want to compete. Scheifele does that. Value may be a bit lower given how he has been in the locker room.
4.
WPG
  1. Zadina, Filip
Additional Details:
I feel like Zadina's value has run out, but I could really see him getting a shot on a new team.
DET
  1. Dillon, Brenden
  2. 2024 3rd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
Likely the easiest of the Dmen to move, and with 1 year left, it's not a major loss.
5.
WPG
  1. Lafrenière, Alexis [RFA Rights]
  2. 2024 1st round pick (NYR)
NYR
  1. Dubois, Pierre-Luc [RFA Rights]
Additional Details:
No one expected this. NY has been rumored to be interested in Dubois. While Montreal will be aggressive, they may be too relaxed since the belief is he will go there in free agency, but I could see NY going for it hard hoping to lock him in long term.
6.
WPG
  1. 2023 1st round pick (TOR)
  2. 2023 1st round pick (DAL)

Additional Details:
Hated making this trade, but Scorched earth is real man...

Minnesota doesn't have the cap space for Mark Scheifele, He grew up a Wings fan. I could see him waiving for Detroit rather than Minnesota.

Detroit is like Winnipeg, Neither team needs LD but RD. So Detroit easily passes.

Rangers don't have the 8x8 cap space for PLD. So Dubois isn't happening and he's going home to Montreal anyways.

LOL on the Connor Hellebuyck offer, Picks are 2 and 3 drafts away and Vanecek that offer would be beat by a country mile.

And 2 late 1st doesn't get Kyle Connor, Detroit would blow away that offer to bring him home.

So Detroit gets Scheifele and Connor? Where are you getting assets, cap space, etc. Detroit has more to figure out, scheifele isn’t really needed. Connor would be nice, but again you need the assets, and Detroit is fairly stingy. In hindsight I should have used the higher blues pick.

Minnesota I would say finds a way to make room. Dumba is gone which frees up around 5M on its own. Rangers weren’t supposed to get Kane and Tarasenko either and made it work. Doesn’t bother the Jets if the Rangers try their hand. Habs won’t give up a ton because they know he’s coming regardless.

ZERO % chance that Drury trades for PLD without a long term extension in place, which the Rangers can't afford anyway, so call the Habs GM.

He got Kane and Tarasenko without extensions in place. NY is a very aggressive buyer, they’re doing whatever it takes to win and worrying about extensions later, Meanwhile Habs have 0 reason to make a big move because 1 they don’t really have those assets that should be burned and 2 they know he’s coming anyways

You gotta be kidding me, Detroit has over $30,000,000 in available cap space this summer. As far as assets we have over 4 1st round picks in these next 2 drafts plus tons of 2nd and one of the best prospect pools in the league. We easily have the assets for both Connor and Scheifele you trade Connor for two lame late 1st round picks and you don't think we couldn't beat that lame offer. If we wanted both Connor and Scheifele it wouldn't be an issue. But doubt Yzerman goes that route when we can get both Keller and Schmaltz out of Arizona for much less.

He didn't give up Laffy plus a 1st round pick to rent either. Everyone knows PLD wants to go to Montreal, so ZERO % chance he trades for him let alone gives up a 1st or Laffy. You even admit the Habs know he is coming to them, so what GM in their right mind gives up Laffy and a 1st for 1 season of PLD? NONE. Plus they cannot afford his next contract so you are dead wrong and barking up the wrong tree. Call the Habs.

Wild wouldn't be able to make room unless they traded away Zuccarello. So you lose Zuccarello, Foligno, Goligoski, and have to get 2x 3rd line forwards and a 6th defenseman for 4 million. I just don't think the Wild do that considering they're looking at 25-26 to compete when the dead cap goes away.

Devils 2024 2nd turns into a 1st if they get to ECF, so really it would be Helle for 2025 1st and 2nd there, which seems unlikely as it seems Fitz will want guys for term, as he believes he will get Meier long term.

Minnesota didn't have the money to resign Dumba to begin with, so him likely being gone doesn't free up anything but a roster spot which will probably be filled by an ELC like Faber. They have Boldy getting a $6m raise and Gustavsson also needs a raise. Short of them finding a way to move Zuccarello, there isn't going to be cap space this offseason for anything other than budget pickups. They could trade a guy like Foligno or Goligoski, but those moves aren't enough to bring in a guy like Scheifele.

That’s the the thing with Minnesota, they can’t “find” the space. It just isn’t there, the cap penalties accelerate this season, and any “savings” from Dumba moving on have already evaporated into Boldy’s new contract. At risk of making ACGM boring this off-season as a Wild fan and turning everyone off from making deals involving our club, we’ll be closed for business it seems. (Would take something unexpected like Zuccarello/Spurgeon type of trade to open any of these kinds of possibilities)

They gave up their worse 1st rounder this year (28+), a 2nd and 3rd (to arizona) for both players that fit a need/want.. So there is zero chance, NYR give up the former 1st overall AND a 1st rounder for one year of PLD, who is more a commodity than a necessity. They gave up the 1st at the deadline for the necessity (Tarasenko), they gave up a 2nd for the commodity (Kane)

Loving the Jets for Picks deals. The Jets players for other teams players are NOT good.
