The Kings would demand a 1st round pick minimum as part of the package - and Johnson holds no value at this point when he'll be an UFA in mid-August and free to sign with whomever he wants.

That return gets you Durzi and Grundstrom, not Iafallo and Roy.

Kings are very unlikely to move Roy, defense will be their focus this off-season not getting worse defensively.

Well that's not true, whoever owns Johnson's rights gets a 2nd rnd pick if he walks.

Kings don't need more draft picks in this trade if Johnson signs somewhere else

I don't think that's correct - the compensatory draft pick is owed to the team that drafted him (Buffalo), not the team that he may sign as a free agent with. I can't locate the exact source that reported that - whether it was an online article I read or interview or blog citing the CBA - but I'm pretty sure the pick is intended only to compensate the team for losing the player and their original pick used on the player. Any acquiring team didn't invest any pick on Johnson so they'd only lose on whatever they chose to trade Buffalo for his rights - which could be a roster player, prospect or draft pick.

Even with the cap dumps included, I take that if I’m the Jets.
