Description

Keep in mind after the season the contract of both goalies, Myers, Zaitsev, Dickinson, Johnson and Bailey all expire and will be replaced by better players on minimum or entry level deals which is around a $25M savings. We still have financial flexibility in summer 2024 to pay for Reichel, Vlasic and Raddysh raises and to pay for Bedard performance bonus and hopefully a couple free agents or one big one.

As for Korchinski, he plays in the NHL, U20 WJC and WHL playoffs as we need to give him a challenging year and also burn year 1 off his entry level deal so we can get him to RFA before his numbers start to blow up.

In year 2 of rebuild---our core players are more identified--our prospects getting more experience and we still have multiple picks in 2024/2025.

They will not lose him for a second. They buyout Goodrow and they can match up until it becomes painful for other teams.

Rags arent going to loose him for a 2nd. They sign him long before hand, or move another contract. ^@AG_sweden hit the nail on the head.

Best I do for Murray and the Bos 1st is the NYR 2nd. Bailey is a 2nd straight up and no picks going back. The Laf trade I can take or leave. Ranger fans won't like it cause they can't get past draft position as #1OA, but I could live with a late first for a middle 6 wing that is young enough to maybe elevate his game into a 2nd line winger. That Vancouver trade is WAY to much draft value for 6 million in salary and cap for Myers and I am not a fan of Garland (go sign Drouin for a year for less and keep the draft picks if you are actually calculating in some sort of value in this trade to get Garland...which you really should not be)

The Vancouver trade is a BIG overpay by the Hawks. For #11 w/ those two players coming to Hawks, Hawks give up #19 and either #55 (NYR 2nd) or #67 (Chi 3rd) max.
