Jets should say yes but I think they value Pionk more then most would think

Would prefer the pick be the 2nd round pick this season. Change it to any of DET's 2nd round picks this year and it's a yes. A 2nd round in 2024 would receive a "We need to think about it" and then call around to see if the Jets could get more for Pionk.

The Jets aren't trading a top 4 RHD for less than it will cost to replace him with a worse player.

I think either sign a RD or make a trade for a RD, but not both. I find it super unlikely that Chiarot would be in the press box.

Yea, one of this year’s pick is fine. Let’s just say 43

You’re not wrong. I just prefer him there. Realistically he’d prob be that third pairing LD

I’ve seen and posted this trade many times and, while opinions vary, the majority of WPG fans are in favor. To each their own though, I personally over value a lot of Det players, I thought Vrana could fetch us a 2nd minimum 🤷

Probably but it’s a low risk move IMO. Love the guy but he’s a unknown at this point with his injury history. I could also see signing Killorn at 2x5.5 maybe pr a couple other guys too. I was trying not to do the common Cat trade for this one also, but that could be a real possibility

Well, we're all just fans and some fans get crazy ideas when they get upset at a player playing bad with an injury. But the bottom line is, Winnipeg can't afford to move one of their 2 NHL RHD without an upgrade or replacement coming back.

So, it's not a question of whether the value is good or not, it's that to replace a top 4 RHD after Pionk is traded definitely costs more than a 2nd. Unless of course he's being replaced with an aging guy on the back 9 of his career.

Would you take a Gus Lindstrom sweetener coming back? RHD 7th defenseman RFA

I wouldn't. I don't think the Jets would either. Top 4 RHD are too rare. Sorry.

I would say the Pacioretty deal is good even though he shattered his acl twice but i could see the redwings doing that aswell as signing or trading for another top 6 forward, this is a make or break season for them while there prospects are growing they need good goal scoring veterans.
