Gee a late 1st backup goalie and a 3rd for Cat, And in what world would that not be easily beaten. Yzerman would offer far better than that joke of an offer to bring Cat home.

If you trade Cat, should look for a pick around 15 + a B level prospect or 2nd round pick.

I feel like Thomson + 2nd can return someone better. I also don’t want the Sens to spend anymore money on D, need to improve the depth up front.

You also overpaid Pacioretty. He probably gets 2-3 mill on 1 year deal + potential bonuses

A backup goalie, Late 1st and 3rd. You honestly think that's a winning bid should Dorion move DeBrincat? Seeing that Detroit has strong interest in binging Cat home. We'd easily beat that offer by a country mile.

It's probably an overpayment for Bear. Never really sure how to value trades. I don't think Lassi for Bear straight up is doable, but a 2nd might be too much added. Anyway, it's just a thought. I think Bear could be good on Ottawa's 3rd pair. He shift JBD to the press box, but knowing the D, someone will get hurt within short order and that opens a spot in the lineup.

Detroit offers the Islanders 17th overall pick St Louis 42nd overall pick and Cross Hanas.

That's exactly what Csick said a 15th+ 1st round pick a 2nd round pick and B level prospect.

I don't think Debrincat is the answer for NSH, but the price is reasonable. OTT should be able to get more than that for him.

Honestly? Maybe not, but I think PD might take a lesser bid to move him out of the division. Also....I have no idea. I'm just making stuff up. I was 1. trying to recoup a 1st. 2. staying out of the Atlantic. 3. Looking for a goalie and I think Lankinen might be one of those late 20s goalies to suddenly come into their stride.

I don't know how to value Lassi but I think it would take a 2nd to get Bear as the Canucks need d and seem to like him. That said they also need to move money out and Bear is an RFA who will prob get between 2.5-2.8m

That's all fair. 1. It's hard to match all those things with a team that can afford him and staying away from teams in the Atlantic, which I think the Sens should do.

2. It's certainly possible and I think JBD would be fine as the 6th D, but I could see PD wanting another more established D and I don't want Hamonic back. Love the guy as a person, but I don't think he's keeping up that well anymore.

3. If Pacioretty would sign for 2-3 mil that would be great and I'd definitely do that. I thought I saw a 5mil projection on The Athletic, but now I'm realizing that maybe I read the wrong line. On my phone, the numbers are too small.

Canucks accept. Management likes Bear and he's played well here, but I'd say that's enough of an overpay to convince Van to part with him. We basically turn a 5th into a 2nd plus Thomson.

I like both deals.
As a Canucks fan, I’d hope we would make that deal to gain draft capital. At the same time, Bear is a solid bottom pair RHD, who can play top 4 in a pinch.
Problem with Bear (as with many D) when he makes a mistake, it’s glaring.
Anyway, nice job.
