We also have Mikheyev, who will play with Petey and Kuzmenko as they played extremely well together. One of Boeser or Garland will likely be moved, which lets us round out the top 9 with Garland/Boeser, Beauvillier, Podkolzin, and Hoglander (I think both Podkolzin and Hoglander need a real shot in the top 9 this year)

Konecny is a great player don’t get me wrong, and would be a top 2 winger on the Canucks, I just don’t think the Canucks are the right fit for him at this time. Maybe if we end up moving both Boeser and Garland

Canucks aren't a great landing spot for Konecny. We have enough wingers and wouldn't be all too interested. Value is fair, just not a great team for him to go to

There seems to be this misconception by Canucks fans that he is just another winger. He would be the #1 or #2 winger on the team. Just because you have a lot of not so good wingers, doesn't mean you don't get a good one.

Yeah but that's not the issue. I'd love for a star winger but if you're Vancouver, you need pretty much everything else more. Centres, Defence, Prospects. Adding to an already overcrowded group of winger's doesn't make sense.

Sure, Konecny would be one of our best wingers. However, just because a player is an improvement doesn’t mean it makes sense to trade for him. We are fine at winger, investing more money just to create a bigger logjam doesn’t make sense. Not only does this deal strengthen our strongest position, but it also weakens our already weak prospect pool by losing the 11th puck in a stacked draft. On top of that, it makes our bad cap situation even worse by adding another big contract to a position where we don’t need it.

It’s the same as offering J.T. Miller for Philly’s 2024 1st. Miller would immediately step in as Philly’s 1C and be an improvement at the position. However, you don’t just look at the improvement as there are many other factors to consider in that deal that would make Philly obviously decline.
