Newhook looked good next to Naz. He also was great with Cogliano and O'Connor. But Bednar always moved him away to different linemates. This is highly frustrating. IMO, Newhook needs a top six role and for it to stay that way at least 20 games. If its on Wing, fine by me.

Not the OP, but I see Byram, Dadonov, and maybe even JVR getting more than that. I can see Byram going for around a 5x5 especially when we don't know if we will be able to keep Toews going forward. I am not confident on the UFA contracts, but I think there will probably be a bigger market for both Dadonov and JVR which would drive prices or term length up a bit. I like the thought of the Lindholm trade as well, but I am concerned about being right back into the search for the 2C next year if Lindholm wouldn't resign. Would you have Newy potentially slide over to center after that contract is up?

Olausson is not worth a 1st lol. He's a very average prospect at best right now

He was just drafted 1st, and has improved a ton and could compete for a roster spot next year on a team like Calgary

Yes he was drafted in the 1st round but plenty of busts get drafted in the 1st round. He had a pretty meh year in the AHL so idk if "improved a ton" is an accurate statement. Considering one of Zary or Coronato is not expected to make the Flames roster next year I would say it's almost impossible for Olausson to make it.

The ask for Lindholm will be more than Bo Horvat and simply put Raty is a better prospect than Olausson, 17th OA >> 27th OA, and you didn't even try to add a Beauvillier

Hard pass. Calgary could go elsewhere for a better return on Lindholm.

Calgary can probably get a better return for Lindholm but the Avs can't really offer more so I don't see it as a fit before going into anything else.
