The most realistic offseason I can think will happen

Team: 2023-24 Minnesota Wild
Initial Creation Date: May 28, 2023
Published: May 28, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
No trades, little signings, anything to keep the roster mostly the same, if I’m being realistic i dont se a scenario where Guerin goes out of his way to make a bunch of trades

Another good-not-great Wild lineup poised for a ‘decent’ regular season followed by a game 6 elimination in round 1. Status quo.

Sometimes the best off-seasons make the most boring ACGMs.

But I think they probably sell a dman and/or a goalie.

Idk what we would move Goligoski for, who would we even bring in, a cheaper 7th D?

Fleury will stay, he will end out this season with us and i wont be surprised that if in next summers free agency he will sign a contract with Pittsburgh just to retire, guys like Goligoski and Fleury I dont think will move because they aren’t waiving their NMC, and they won’t waive because they dont want to uproot their families, thats mostly the reason they have those NMCs anyways, and i dont see them moving Gus, maybe Addison but thats it tbh

Basically, though I do think they'll move Addison and replace him with a cheaper veteran that could be sent to Iowa in the unlikely scenario a guy like O'rourke or Hunt has a good enough camp to make the team. That will shave off enough money to sign Ryan Reaves since Guerin seems to like what he brings. Pretty good chance they run a 22 man roster until the deadline, where they once again tinker around the edges without making any major trades.

Things will get a little more interesting in 2024 when Hartman, Fleury, Zuccarello, and Foligno are all UFAs.

With Faber, O’Rourke, Wallstedt … seems like best place to replace cap with ELCs.

Not with Dean Evason as coach and Bill Guerin as gm. Wallstedt is not playing in nhl thus year. Neither is Ryan r. The plan with Wallstedt has already been made clear.

O’Rourke maybe, Wallstedt will come up when Flurey leaves, that seems to have been the plan from the start

Another point on ELCs, 24-25 i bet will have a lot because i would think by then, we probably have Lambos, Wallstedt, Faber, Rossi, Beckman, Oghren, maybe Yurov and Khudnutdiov by then as well, they should all be NHL ready and it will be a young squad other than Brodin, Gaudreau, Middleton, Spurgeon, Kaprizov, and Merrill if he doesn’t get traded, but i dont see any of those guys coming up out of camp other than maybe Beckman and Rossi

Faber doesn’t make team? I figured he was there to stay.

Rossi and Beckman will lose exemption by 2024-25, so if they didn’t make roster, they’d have to pass through waivers.

I excluded him based on the fact he played in the playoffs and in a few games last year, yes Faber makes the team
