Petterson isn't going to Minney unless a deal can be centered around:

Faber, Wallstedt, and a first + . moving someone of Pettersson's magnitude has to target Vancouver's needs: a young stud Dman, a young stud goalie and a pick.

This trade doesn't do anything for them

Spacek is a good defenseman, but I wouldn’t mind adding a Lambos or O’Rourke, and you got a replacement at center if you let Rossi develop, idk why Vancouver would be in market for a goalie, yes Demko had a bad down year but he’s shown he can be solid and he should be their goalie for the future, 2 firsts could definitely get Vancouver somewhere I would think

Minnesota doesn't get nearly enough credit for the incredible prospect pool they've built, and it's been done without top-ten picks. Just excellent scouting and management. Van fans are going to want one of your high-end pieces in this deal, though, which starts the classic "just because we have some of the top prospects in the game doesn't mean you get to ask for them when our B tier is better than most teams' A tier"/"who cares about other teams' pools, we require YOUR A-tier piece for this" around and around. Columbus fans are used to having that conversation with other fanbases, especially Vancouver. And arguably Minnesota's pool is better than Columbus's.

If the Wild are asking for a top-10 player and offering Rossi and Spacek, I’d imagine they would have a long way to go.

This would be close to cap neutral too.
Boldy $7m + JEE $5.25m = EP $12.25m (2024-25)

Maybe they could get Vancouver to take Addison and a pick instead of Faber. Would probably work better on cap timeline.

But honestly that probably still feels light for a Canucks fan.

Gosh, I would look at it differently.

Vegas added Eichel and look where they are. If that could have been Minnesota, would you want to let that opportunity pass again. Don’t make the same mistake twice. And this time, it’s a better center who is healthy.

He's a restricted free agent also who would want a,payday. My gosh bill Guerin doesn't like this type of players and no chance in like ever is Minnesota doing this. Those players aren't getting traded. That's the way it will be look at. Trade Petterson elsewhere. Clearly have no ideas how Guerin or Dean Evason operates. No. Imagine overrated player on here and giving up Minnesota stud of boldy, Eriksson ek, established homeborn dman in faber. Guerin would hang up and walk away like he did with eichel

Are you just trolling with thus? The guy is a restricted free agent tge next year looking to get pay day when fiala was traded so cap could be saved for signing kaprizov. You know what you did posting this and the responses you will get

Eichel returned less than this. This is just abysmal. You traded our 30+ goal 22 year old and our top center for one really good center. You didn’t solve any of our problems. We still only have one top 6 center. You actively made the roster and cap situation worse.

This team needs Boldy and Eriksson Ek to succeed. It’s no secret why the Wild failed at multiple levels in the playoffs when Ek was injured. He’s arguably the Wild’s most important player. Best shutdown center. Net front on power play. Top penalty killer. His contract might be one of the best value contracts in the league.

Pettersson isn’t worth it. If the Wild get him, it will be because he signed a 1 year deal after this season taking him to free agency. This lines up perfectly with when Minnesota’s dead cap drops significantly.

The problem with matching it to Eichel is (1) Vegas had more cap flexibility than Minnesota does now, (2) Petterson hasn’t requested a trade, (3) Pettersson is a better player than Eichel. So he *should* get more in a trade if there is reasonable chance of extension. If Minnesota did a package of prospects and picks (Wallstedt, Faber, Rossi, etc) than they would be over the cap with fewer options to dump than Vegas had.

But it’s merely a suggestion.
