Why? Because it's not nitpicking. It's a major reason why trades are made or not made, as it actual cap. Absolutely silly, impractical to assume an extension.

Because there's a zero percent chance Nylander signs for less than what he's currently making and the Wild won't be able to afford that with the final expensive year of the Parise/Suter buyouts. They wouldn't even be able to afford Nylander's current cap hit this coming year without shedding a bunch of contracts.
