I promised myself I wouldn't look at any of the DET proposed trades for Helly. Oh why oh why do I look.

This trade Helly for Hanas and the 2023 1st round pick (NYI) is bad for both teams.

DET isn't ready for Helly - It's not a good match. He wants to win NOW!

DET thinks every player on their roster is the best thing since... McDavid. So, NO trades between WPG and DET, because DET won't make a hockey trade. I thought the Laffs were off the charts when they keep trying to trade Marner and his overpriced contract. But, now Laffs fans seem more rational that DET fans.

Helly going home just doesn't make sense. He needs to go to a team that could win it all next year or at least within the next 2 years. DET is 3+ years away, If Cossa does as well as they think he will and all of their kids work out as well as they think they will.

I don't doubt Yzerman, because he knows about Dynasties, playing on them and building them.

But... ****e happens. You have a plan and then players get injured and some leave and boom... back to square 1.

I'm a Wings fan and I agree that Wings fans are the worst on this website Lol. But what do mean with this "DET thinks every player on their roster is the best thing since... McDavid."? Are you talking about trades where Hellebuyck is included or just in general?

Just a general comment. I've seen a LOT of trades that involve DET, not just Helly. Anytime a DET player is mentioned, you get ripped to shreds that they are Yzerman's plan, etc... and that they are amazing and the best in the NHL, even players that haven't even played a game in the NHL yet or a few that have only played a few. Seider had a tough sophomore season and any analytics person knows it, but heaven help you if you mention it, even for fun.

The rest of us aren't stupid, we KNOW Yzerman has a plan, he always has. He's a winner who knows about playing on and leading dynasties from the ice and in management. But, DET didn't have a great year last year and so many of these "untouchable players" (according to many of the DET fans) are barely proven or even not at all.

We come out here to propose things, talk, etc... but again... mention someone like Cossa, Edvinsson, Raymond, Kasper, etc... and you are bleeped.

Trading someone like Helly (just turned 30) or Kyle Connor (26 years old) (who grew up in DET area) should be someone DET fans would like, but NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO... they are too old or don't fit, blah, blah, blah.

It's just funny / silly.
