Gibson very publicly spurned the leafs last off-season when they were trying to acquire him, I doubt the feeling has changed.

AFter suffering through past few years with Ducks, I doubt he is leaving just when they start to turn around

Also, would cost more than a first to acquire him

I mean that and in what universe does Washington include their first in that trade. Taking on Murray and a year of Nylander.

There’s zero chance the caps make that move. Like it’s so bad for the caps

Wow did not see that - interesting.

Wonder what value will be - a few years ago they would have got sun and the moon for him. Will be cool to see how he would do on a contender.

Well depends. He's an American goalie with a 10 team no trade list. He's probably best suited for a team that has an up-and-coming guy where he can fill more of a mentor role. I could see Buffalo being a really good fit

What's Seravalli shooting? Feels like he just launches shots hoping 1 out of 50 of them will land.

Huh? This is about Gibson reportedly asking for a change of scenery. Whether his other takes in that article are hot or not is irrelevant

This is really hard to say. Heavily depends on the market plus Buffalo would have to be conscious of their cap space in following years.
Here are the things I factor in
1. Gibson makes starter money with term (6.4Mx4 years) as well as a 10 team no-trade list
2. Gibson is likely below Hellebuyck and Hart on the non-UFA starters market
3. There are a bunch of UFA goalies as well between Jarry, Andersen, Korpisalo, Hill, etc. To me this means that the incentive to take Gibson would likely include some sort of cap going back.
4. How many of the UFA goalies will retire this summer, I think there is a decent chance that anyone 35+ or with notable injury history hangs up the skates.

Ill definitely give it some thought though

His reliability is definitely relevant. If Seravalli isn't consistently right, then he may be making stuff up. If someone names 50 trade targets and only 1 of them hits, is that a good success rate?

You are welcome to believe whatever you want but insiders are often very careful with their wording. If what they hear is more of smoke than concrete they tend to use phrases like "my understanding," "what I've heard," and "I believe." That. Didn't happen here
