I feel like AZ would want more than a 2nd rounder for KV

They got a young RHD who has RFA eligibility left and who plays over 20 mins a night

Edit: was supposed to be Jokiharju. I'll fix

I like the idea of Borgen coming back to Buffalo, but I wouldn't give that much for him. A 2nd and 4th at most should be able to get the job done.

I feel like that's about what I gave up. Their Asst GM drafted UPL so he may like him as their backup

I think UPL might be worth more in a outright but I get where you're coming from.

It would be great to see Borgen back in Buffalo, a perfect partner for Power, but I'm not sure Seattle would want to trade him. This roster looks good.

He is an rfa with arb rights. They have several of those and not a ton of space. This is good value

Certainly an interesting trade, returning Borgen to BUF. (Agree with some others, mightt be an overpay here, though.) But Seattle really likes his game and the role he fills. I think 2 things would have to happen before that trade, or one like it, could be made:
- SEA would have needed to add on defense in a way that pushes Borgen to the outside,
- and both Driedger and Daccord would have to s#%t the bed as backup to warrant adding UPL.
I think Seattle sees what they have this season in net, especially now that Driedger is off LTIR, before adding anyone.

No thank you from Carolina. Between the cap hit and size, doesnt fit into the off season plans.

This is one of the better Vejmelka trades I've seen.
But I don't imagine they'd want Comrie. They already turned that page before someone gave him that ridiculous contract. He was fine as the emergency third taxi goalie during that nonsense, but they didn't think he was an NHL goalie. At the end, they sent him down for conditioning, brought him back up and traded him without him ever playing a game for them.

I'd try to squeeze a replaceable prospect (Novikov? Komarov?) out of you, but JokiharJu and a second is a solid offer. Depending on the draft board, they might well prefer it to someone else's mid or late first next year (which is what I'd guess they are aiming for).

Seattle has over $20M in cap space, enough to sign all their RFAs with relative ease. While your proposed trade package for Borgen is reasonable value, the issue is that Borgen is more valuable to the Kraken as an on-ice contributor than as a trade chip. For a team looking to win now, a second pairing defenseman is more useful than an extra second round pick and developing goalie. Seattle is already looking to add to their defense as it is, not subtract from it. For those reasons, I think they hang onto Borgen.

I could see the Kraken having some interest in UPL as a backup goalie option with some upside. However, in that scenario Seattle would probably be more willing to send a mid-round pick Buffalo's way instead of trading a key piece of their current roster.

Seattle is a Playoff team, I don't think they would want to mess with their 2nd Pair RD.

No one was talking about you. Lots of non-NHL players make millions. Welcome to...the world.
