I can't see us trading John Gibson without getting a 2023 first, unless the package has a much more useful A prospect than a LhD who is behind Jackson LaCombe, Pavel Mintyukov and CFL Defenseman of the Year Olen Zellweger. And Pittsburgh doesn't have any A prospects in their system other than Owen Pickering.

Ducks prioritize Fantilli's development, either he stays at Michigan one more year, he starts out in the AHL, or he's on the second line. No way he starts out on the fourth line.

Dont see Gibson getting anything more than a first, especially with nothing retained. He definitely doesn't get 2 First and more.

I have said it before and I'll say it again, I love Gibson. But, he is not worth a 1st at this point. He is extremely talented but hasn't shown up for a whole season in like 5 years.

He won't get traded because he is worth a pair of 2nds (or a 2nd and a 3rd) to the rest of the league but if Ana trades him for that, their fan base will riot.

Yeah my thoughts exactly, I think there could def be some veteran GM who hears his name and thinks he's worth a first. But his production has been embarrassingly bad the last few years where at some point you need to stop blaming the team and think maybe he's just worn down now, which I think is the case.

I will challenge you a little there. He has looked good in a few half seasons but not the whole year.

I will agree that he is worn down. Ana is a bad team and leaves him out to dry way too often.

He would certainly be an upgrade for the Pens (or any good team) but not for the price that Ana would require to keep fans from burning their stadium down.

Yeah, I wouldn't trade more than a 2nd and 3rd/mid spec for him, and I can almost guarantee Dubas won't in PIT bc Dubas has never spent big on Gs before, and I'm gonna guess he's gonna notice that it's been 4 yrs since Gibby has been league average

Also there are plenty of guys who have been much better over the past few yrs that could be had for cheaper in terms of $ and assets. Also G is only one of the pens issues, it would be far smarter to use Pickering, 14, and the 24 first for a legit top 4 d man and top 6 F than a G

I think the Pens are set in their top 6. Especially if they bring back Zucker. They could use a top 4 LH dman.

I don't see them trading 2023 1st for anything short of a massive game changer (Saros, Keller, Marner, etc.)

I think the return on GIbson, if he gets traded, is going to be more underwhelming than overwhelming...

I'm assuming Zucker is gone atp, but even if we bring him back I wouldn't mind bringing in a high end top 6 guy to play with Geno, and drop Rust or Zucker to the 3rd line and have a potentially great 3rd line. And yeah, we def need either a 2LD to play with Petry, or 2RD to play with POJ bc they can't play together (absolutely zero defense between the 2) and Petry prolly gets moved if possible
