The Canucks are not a likely bottom 5 team next year

The Caps aren’t going to do this. Boeser is PowerPlay-dependent and his production would crater on the Caps. Aside scoring points (sometimes) he doesn’t do much else. The Caps certainly aren’t going to be after him enough to trade the teams better prospects in addition to retaining on Mantha. The Caps wouldn’t likely trade Iorio or Lapierre for Boeser at all.

And Kravtsov is basically worthless at this point.

While the mock trade might not be something WSH does, getting Boeser might be.

Even if he's just scoring on the PP mostly, I think his production would hold in WSH or increase if anything. Carbery is probably going to have some ideas on how to improve the PP. Boeser might be able to pot a ton of PPGs as the 2nd shot option that plays across from OVI. Worth noting that he had 12 even strength goals in each of the last two seasons and 11 and 6 PPGs in the last two years. Similarly, his EV assists are more than his PP production.

I think a Mantha (without retention) + a pick or (edit: and not or) B-prospect for Boeser (without retention) would be more reasonable.

This seems agreeable.

Should have been "B-prospect+a pick"
