its better for him and the franchise, he clearly doesnt care to win he wants the spotlight but he just needs to accept the fact that hes in toronto. this is the year he needs to show his true potential. I agree he shouldnt get trade but if hes gonna complain about money saying hes worth over 10 then hes not right here. next offseason if nothing happens to him this season he will either resign if him and leafs come to agreement or he may walk if he doesnt appreciate it here

I feel all these rumours going around about nylander are bogus we are always complaining about not having toughness not we got it now it’s scoring depth. And with a Willy trade we will lose that touch. Now I do agree wee need to improve our D a whole lot but a Willy trade for a Dman 1 for 1 is not ideal. I feel we can use timmins and maybe hirvonen and a late pick to pick of a nice defensive guy like peeke or even alexeyev or someone shutdown of sum sorts

That would be ok honestly as a leafs fans we are used to disappointment ( him leaving ) but when looking at the trade Gabriel will probably sign for 5-5.5 mil x 6 which is good long term for us and even then it’s better than what Matthews will ever sign. Ecept mikey Anderson 8years 🤯
