Realistic??? Jarry, Smith and a 2nd in 2024 for Helly? You really need to check out the other trade boards, look online, etc. Helly is going to get a LOT better return than that, from teams who want to win the Stanley Cup.

Think the value on the Helle and Colton deals is way too low. Helle for instance is going to require 14 OA, Poulin and something else to even get the conversation started. Idk that they really even have the pieces to get it done honestly.

Not enough for Hanifin alone.

You're dreaming if you think Hanifin is getting a better package than the one above. Top 15 pick and a 19 year old former 1st rounder for a guy on an expiring deal... come on.

He's a top pairing Defenseman.

How much do you expect to pay ?

I would assume he gets dealt for a package similar to what the Canucks received for Horvat.

I don't see Hellebuyck above, so I assume the deal was removed but, Hellebuyck won't receive much more than Bishop or Kuemper did a few years ago. An A prospect / low 1st, a backup goalie, and a toss in. He will likely not net a mid or high 1st. Goalies aren't traded for much.

Yup, it was removed. The OP had Jarry, Ty Smith and a 2nd for Helly. That's the worst offer I've ever seen posted for a 3 time Vezina nominated goalie who has won it one time already, is in the prime of his career and getting better all the time.

Helly is SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than Bishop and Kuemper were at the time of their trades.

Helly wins games all by himself. The Jets are crap and yet they made the playoffs riding a goalie who played over 60 games. If it wasn't for Helly, they wouldn't have made the playoffs.

If a team can make him only play 50 games in a season, he would be so much more ready for the playoffs and on his own guarantees a team makes it to the playoffs and possibly all the way.

Anyone comparing Helly to Bishop or Kuemper in their best days does NOT watch Helly play.

With the very very few quality goalies available this summer, Helly is going to get more than any goalie has in recent history or maybe ever.

Toronto has 6 NHL D signed and one of them is 40. Peohling is decent but young RH NHL D are hard to find.

In a world where Ekholm, Hronek, Chychrun all got dealt at the deadline you chose the comparable of Noah Hanifin, possibly the third best D man on the Flames to Bo Horvat, arguably the most valuable position in hockey as a 1C? Pick 14 in this draft puts you in Sandin Pelkikka , Wood, Danielson, Yager, possibly Reinbacher territory of this draft, guys that could all be impact guys in year 2 of their careers especially on a team where the GM just said he's leaving spots for young guys. Pickering fills a hole in a relatively shallow prospect pool on the back end and would be pushing to be Calgary's best defensive prospect form day one. Hanifin is great and I have some serious bias's towards him but to say a top 15 pick with this draft class and a prospect that slides into the system's top 5 is not enough for a guy on an expiring deal is insane.

Hellebuyck is a quality goalie, and better than either guy I mentioned, but goalies aren't traded for big returns. It literally never happens. Will he get more than those guys, maybe? Will it be a ton more? Probably not.

But we will see.

I think the Lindholm trade would be a better comparison. So a 1st, 2x 2nds, a B prospect, and a cap dump for 50% retention and an 8 year extension.

If you look at precedent, consider age than I think the value isn't there.

And not to mention you included Dube who is a solid middle 6 forward as an add in.

Just not a good deal for Calgary at all.

14OA and Pickering for Hanifin would be a great deal for Calgary, the above deal is not as kind, I don't disagree with you there especially with Dube being an RFA.

Canucks easily decline. Reported ask at the deadline for Demko was a 1st, blue chip prospect, and Raty like prospect. You have zero of those three assets in the deal.
