Thats why shorter term works best for them. Cap is going up. If the cap is close to $90M in a few years, Meier under 9 is a great deal and NJD will have no problem signing their RFAs.

He's very overrated, it's not just about goals (see Panarin). The guys is just not that good.

You're right, it is about more than goals. Meier is worth it. It will be tight but it is doable.

Yegor put up pretty decent numbers in 3rd line minutes, honestly itd be a pretty good swap for the Jets if they're looking to retool and get younger.

And 6 years younger with team control. Blackwood is very much a throw-in but if you trade Hellebuyck, a no-risk, potential reward option in net.

Yep. Spent a bit of time on a line with Hughes but mostly 3rd line. Played a lot of PK when he was in. He got scratched a few games late in the season. Definitely a down season from his first two but hes a very serviceable 3rd line player at a minimum whose shot gives him top 6 potential.
