If a 21 year old and an 18 year both are freshman in college does that make them the same age?

is this real?

I’m saying debuting the same year doesn’t make them the same age

Younger means younger bro. Anything over a year literally means younger

the comment that i replied to was talking about marner going into year 8 considering him a vet, keller and marner debuted the same year. keller has 50 or so less games than marner in his career, how are they not similar, keller is being talked about an up and coming rookie here lmao

it is not a factor that gives an advantage to keller like it has been suggested. thes the point of using younger as an argument

I feel like everyone knows neither team is going to spend young talent capital on an veteran players, let alone an 11M one.

And??? He's younger. More than a year so. And being younger is not the only factor here anyway. You're really getting hung up on minutiae.

What I'm saying is you can't call one of them "young talent capital" and the other a "veteran player" when they are literally born 14 months apart.

Veteran doesn’t necessarily mean age. That’s what they’re trying to say and it makes sense. Marner has over 500 games with 50 career playoff games. That makes him more experienced within all points of the game (regular season and playoff). Veterans don’t have to be 30+. Look at Michael Bunting he’s almost 28 at last year was considered a “rookie”

(sigh)

Again, minutiae. Keller IS younger. End of story. By trading Keller for Marner, they would be adding an older player. You can suggest it's a minor difference, and that's a debate to be had. To Arizona, having the YOUNGER Keller locked down for five years at 7M is a much more forward-thinking place to be for a rebuilding team than having an 11M guy signed for two years. Obviously. So fine, we we're off a half year on the age difference, big whoop. You caught us, we weren't paying attention to the birth months. The point remains the same. Marner is a win now acquisition. Keller could be that, but he can also be a long term acquisition for the future... like, say, to any rebuilding team. Like, say, Arizona. For example.

Keller has played 442 NHL games. If you wanna call Marner a veteran then Keller is also a veteran.

keller isnt even close to marner, he has a cheaper contract because hes a worse player, marner is a top 3 winger in this league and keller isnt even top 10, maybe not even 15

Aren't the Leafs competing? Why would they be so generous to get so much worse, I wonder?

The Leafs are competing and Keller "isnt even close to Marner". I'm just trying to figure out why the competitive Leafs want to get so much worse.

Great. You can all huddle, and then stop posting ridiculous trades like this.
