I think Barbashev could get 5.5Mx5 like Burakovsky, so an 8-year deal maybe gets that AAV down to 4.5M. Would be as if he signed a 2.83Mx3 after a 5.5Mx5 in terms of pay.

If I'm Vegas I'm prioritizing Barbashev over DeBrincat, a more bigger or shinnier star is likely to become available in the coming years.

I can't imagine watching the success of this current run and thinking that VGK would want to add a player like Debrincat. Honestly, save the money and try to sign Tyler Bertuzzi for that same spot. Much better fit for the way VGK plays.
