Sakic aint paying that price for a rental. nobody seems to remember the Avs had broke the record for most man games lost due to injury and had an AHL roster for a lot of the season. Newhook is better than he looks on paper. to me, that package is ridiculous for a possible locker room risk.

I agree with this. Kakko is a no deal from NYR.

I really like PLD to NYR. I even did that in one of my ACGM teams. First of all if NYR is on PLD's 5-7 team list I can see him signing a 8 @ $7-8M deal with them. They are a contending team and the report came out saying that he would be willing to take less to sign with a contender. Second, the NYR will have to move salary out so I understand Goodrow being in the package back to the Jets. However the Jets have a big need and that is a RHD. NYR have a what looks like a really good young RHD in Braden Schneider who is stuck behind Trouba and Fox. He isn't jumping ahead of those guys in playing time. Now back to the part where NYR needs to shed salary to fit PLD in. Trocheck is a guy who would be a solid number 2 centre. Chevy has said this is a re-tool so bringing in a guy like Trocheck makes that easier. The only thing is would he waive his no move to come to Winnipeg? doubtful.

Trocheck is a good 2C, but for the Rangers, so he isn't being traded for PLD, who isn't that much of an upgrade. Schneider is off limits in a trade because he Trouba's eventual replacement in the near future and will be the foundation of the Rangers D with Fox and Miller for many years. Neither is being traded. The only way PLD comes to NYC is if he signs long term at a cap hit they can deal with and they move out a big cap hit like Panarin. IMO, there is no deal for PLD that makes sense for the Rangers right now unless the Jets want Panarin.

I can’t see Drury trading Schneider so I left him out. I also don’t see Trocheck waiving for us. I see Trocheck on the top line as a RW with Mika and Kreider. I have Laffy with Dubois. I have all of this happening because I think they can ship out Panarin. I think Chicago would take him back since they now have an elite centre coming in the door.

Well that's great, but the real question is can Panarin see himself back in Chicago? 99.9% the answer is no.

Trocheck is 29. NYR getting PLD would mean NYR having PLD at 25, Chytil at 23 down the middle!! Trocheck is easily traded away. PLD has been in 2 markets that he never wanted to be in. He has all the tools and skills to be a 1C!

I have nothing against PLD's skill and he is at a good age, the problem is his cost in trade and his cap hit. The Rangers have too much cap space tied up in too few players that is hurts their depth and skill level at certain positions, so adding another big cap hit without removing one of equal size will not help the TEAM get better. The only big cap hit that makes sense for the Rangers to move is Panarin because it pays for PLD and also opens up a LW slot for Laffy in the top 6. Problem is his NMC, which I doubt he waives. IMO, the Rangers are better off keeping Trocheck at 2C and spending the cap space in areas of need like RW unless a Panarin for PLD trade could be worked out.
