What do YOU think is a reasonable DeBrincat deal?

Why would anyone overpay for him?

Assuming the offers aren’t great, he should swing for some rentals and try and extend them. Example are Toffoli , Reinhart, Etc. maybe an RFA swap with someone like Bratt . But no way should they take a late 1st and a prospect who has a 3rd line ceiling . That would be terrible asset management.

It’s on Dorion to use the 10 team list to get a sign and trade done and get the best return that helps now and longterm

It’s gonna be a sign and trade. Same as Fiala and Tkachuk. He gave them the 10 team list, it’s on Dorion to negotiate the best sign and trade. Ottawa shouldn’t accept any offer with only futures.

    Understandable.
I think the most likely route taken is a Bratt-DeBrincat swap.

I personally think it’s a great move for both teams given that Cat wants to play in the US and the Sens would pay what Bratt is worth

Ditto. Hate to say it as a Wings fan, but it makes the most sense.

Wings should focus on trying to get Helly in free agency next year as well as drafting Moore/Leonard/Benson and Willander

If he hits FA, maybe? He'll be want a real expensive and long contract. I'm not big on signing 31 year olds for 8 years tbh.
Plus, he'll probably want to go to a team that will be contending next year and several years beyond that, rather than be in developing team purgatory.

Prediction: ADB is going to continue to underperform for the next year and a half until the expectation becomes 25g a year rather than the 40g that Ottawa fans are basing their insane valuations upon.

    Don't @ me

He’s not staying with ottawa so who cares . He never underperformed , he just never played with a good centre in ottawa because of injuries and he hit a lot of posts and missed the net on open nets. Should resolve itself. He played like a 35 goals scorer over a 27

Keep telling yourself that. I'm confident Alex never comes close to 40 again

Unless either of those players don't want to be in one of those locations...

That's true, but unless DeBrincat is hardset on living in a general region rather than just not in Canada; don't see why he wouldn't be willing to go to NJD.
Bratt is a little more interesting, though.

From everything I’ve seen, just sounds like Bratt wants to be paid what he’s worth. While Cat wants to move back to the US

Yeah; I'm not too knowledgeable on Bratt's situation, but unless he also does not want to live in Canada (and Dorion is willing to pay what he's worth), then I don't see him refusing Ottawa.
