a pretty easy rule to abide by is that if the fans of the division rival on one side of the trade all are incredibly eager and excited at the idea of this trade, then it’s not one Ottawa would want to make

As AlTintin1122 said, the trade is likely at market value for Debrincat, however given Detroit and Ottawa are division rivals, maybe Detroit would need to add a sweetener to the deal (ie Zadina, another pick or prospect) unless you have other ideas?

I agree it’s pretty much market value so personally, I’d rather just try to get market value elsewhere. issue with detroit is that the Islander’s pick is the only thing of any particular value that they’re willing to move. they wouldn’t do their own pick or Berggren, but I don’t see Ottawa moving ADB there for much less.
