Besides the 3rd OA, Columbus doesn't have the resources for a Marner trade

Their prospects are intriguing, plus some surplus defencemen

Jackets are set on the wings in the top 6. Unless they are running Johnson at center next year, they don’t need marner. We need two top 6 centers and need to ship out roslovic.

Maybe a third. A second if we retain 1 million.
For your other post, bean is probably worth a 3rd to a 4th. Boqvist a late first or second rounder
    Tex probably isn’t available
    Trey, maybe a late pick

They are all solid prospects with good chances of NHL play

Are they A tier prospects though? Not Knies good but in between him and Minten/Niemela?

I mean, a Marner-Johnson-Laine with gaudreau on L2 seems like a nasty combo and the GM is trying to keep his job rn and Marner will help him with that

Johnson plays winger. They already have gaudreau, laine, Johnson, marchenko as their top 6 wingers not to mention a ton of middle 6 guys. They can’t afford marners cap hit and he won’t extend.

You are overestimating Knies here, yes hes good but Sillinger, Marchenko, Jircek, Chinakov, all as good or better than him, they have more value, too

He plays centre and Marner automatically becomes your best player

As someone who watched every jackets game this year he’s a winger. He may eventually transition to center but not yet

You and I both saw how good Knies was in the playoffs, literally a series shifter. I feel I can hype him up a ton after that... Marchenko is 23+, no?

Jiricek, mateychuk sillinger dumais and svozil are all on the same tier as knies. If not higher (in the case if jiricek)

Isn't Laine also making the transition? If so then you could have

    Marner - Laine - Johnson
    Gaudreau - Jenner - Marchenko

    as the top 6

Yes I agree Knies was a big difference in the playoffs this year and I cant wait to see him have a full season in the NHL but all the prospects I named all played full seasons in pro leagues

Maybe but marner is just not a fit for the jackets. Jackets have zero need for wingers. They need centers
