Dont think the hawks should make that pens trade. Raddysh will get more at the deadline. If PIT 1st gets you raddysh or raddysh+3rd, then were taking on granlund for free

Van says no. Too much to trade Garland.
Pit says no. I think they would like Raddysh but they would essentially be trading the 20th overall pick for him. That is too much. Maybe remove the 3rd and replace the 1st with next years 2nd...?

I don't think many teams would trade a mid 1st in a good draft for Raddysh.

maybe not this bc of this years crazy draft but if he gets 40 games with bedard or reichel hell put up points and go for a 1st+ at the deadline

From everything I’ve heard inside the organization, Vancouver isn’t moving the 11th overall pick unless a team is willing to take on the OEL contract as part of it. The Garland contract really isn’t terrible and he’s not negative value. He might be a slight bit overpaid (maybe $1m at most) but with the cap projected to keep increasing every year it’s not that bad of a deal - he’s still a 50 point player that has bite to his game. Canucks were just hoping he’d out perform his deal and he hasn’t really fit in that well yet. But they won’t be moving that high of a pick to move him

That certainly was more picks, but they were also down the road. Who knows what that TBL 1st will be, BUT a known 14th vs potentially 28-32 in 2026???... Big certainty value there.

It gives PIT optionality. @newman23 is correct that TRad could potentially get a haul in return if for whatever reason PIT has Crosby get injured or whatever. Tanner Jeannot and TRad are similar players. No one can EXPECT an exact duplicate in return, but a precedent has been set.

Also the cap space for this year and next year. Go get a few big names for that cup run that they want to do during the Crosby era.

I'd do OEL and the VAN 1st straight up for futures.

You might. But there’s not a whole lot of teams that want that contract, he’s not the highly regarded anymore. & his NMC complicates things cause he actually loves being in Vancouver. There’s not many teams that he’d waive for.

Maybe. That is possible. A 2nd is more likely though.

Exactly! They could sell TRad at the TDL and potentially get a Jeannot type return.
