Devils would gladly accept, but NJ is likely to not qualify Blackwood, so Pittburgh could just sign him as a UFA

-Florida isn’t trading Bennett after this Stanley cup run
-I can totally see Dubas signing bunting
-I can see blackwood being a target as a bounce back guy on the cheap BUT he would be the 1B. Pit still needs a 1A which DeSmith is not…
-edmunson is not a top pairing d
-I don’t really want mayfield or Clifton for those contracts, I don’t see them as too much different from Petry/rutta

I look at both Mayfield and Clifton comes with more grit and toughness to their game. Those guys clear the net and that’s something we haven’t had since Brooks Orpik.

I agree with that and I don’t have anything specific against those players it’s just I don’t feel that fits Dubas’ MO at all and don’t think that’s the direction he or sully will take the team… also Dubas kept saying how he wants to bring in younger players and such…

Yea they want to play fast. I know Dubas brought in Schenn to TOR. The D core definitely needs an upgrade on being physical.

I'm completely uninterested in either player in the Habs return. I view Edmundson the way I view Dumo - good for a veteran presence and not much else. We don't need a veteran presence. Anderson brings some physicality and goal scoring, but at the cost of almost no passing or defense. He's a pretty one dimensional player that isn't good enough at that one dimension to justify the aquisition. Even if I was interested, I wouldn't be at the price. Some GMs would be willing to move a 1st for Anderson, but I can't see Dubas being one of them. I wouldn't. And I don't think Edmundson's value is even positive.

Florida declines. They have less cap space than we do and Rust is a bigger cap hit with term they probably don't like. Also as high as I am on Lundell's game, I don't think he's ready to be a 2C.

Faksa is a 4th line center that adds no offense. Pettersson was our best defenseman last year and his value has never been higher. The Pens shouldn't consider moving him, and if they did Dallas should be adding a lot.

IMO the defense and goaltending overall are at best equal to what they were last season, and neither were enough than.

Avs would do that. A 3rd line center at a cap hit of $3 million for a 4th? Sounds good.

I am a Habs fan and I agree with you. The Pens have a very short window to capitalize on Sid and Malkin, so it's not clear how this trade helps that much. Anderson would be a good addition, but he's not a top-line RW. Edmundson is fine, but is he that much better than Rutta? So you're giving up Poulin, who hasn't developed as well as hoped but is not yet a bust, and a first-rounder?!!! I mean, as a Habs fan, thanks!!

Goalie market is weak, there may be enough interest for someone to pay

Avs likely accept. 3C who can maybe step up to 2C for a 4th for 3 mil per is pretty reasonable.
