Description
Well I'll Be dard. I'm jealous you win lotto and get Connor, my NYR win 1&2 but have no choice but Laf & Kakko lol. Kind of a curse really, although Kakko is slowly developing like Kreider did. I'm sad cause Connor is not in the east, altleast he's not in the 10 o'clock start zone.
I'm just playing with CHI cause you have tons of cap. CHI presently have zero core, a few kids coming up, a few more in 1-3yrs, no high trade assets besides picks. Help Connor and you have a chance. A decent 4 year core, then the following kids core transition.

I think this makes the Hawks worse in the long term. I do not mind acquiring 2 bad contracts (Bailey and Mantha) and signing 2 free agents (Tatar, Killorn/Barbi for ex.), but the worst thing the Hawks can do is rush a rebuild. This team is not ready to compete and needs two, maybe three years of drafting in the Top 5-10 before it becomes competitive. Great teams are built through the draft and I expect Kyle Davidson to slow play this and do the right thing.

I'll give you credit for doing something different, but these contracts are totally unrealistic. Thanks for getting a smile out of me. Getting tired of the same old trades and signings, so I appreciate your creativity.

Rushing the rebuild due to a 1st overall is always a bad idea. Build something worthwhile and be patient. It takes time to build a perennial contender, just ask Buffalo and even Chicago before Kane and Toews when their best player was basically Eric Daze.

CHI isn't going to rush anything. And contrary to popular belief, we don't have to go buy a bunch of high end talent in order to "not ruin Bedards development". We have plenty of players to play with him for now, and plenty more on the way. Rushing the rebuild would be suicide, especially if we did everything you are suggesting. But yeah, I'm excited, Bedard is a huge piece for our rebuild. We have tons of draft capital, a front office that seems to be pretty good at drafting so far, and plenty of cap space. Things are looking good.

Totally understand. Yet no real core or depth and top kids are still years away. Bedard and original 6 large market certainly won't go the long small market 11 year rebuild, guaranteed. This gives you cool core for 4yrs then kids replace. I actually like it, it doesn't hurt your future at all. I understand if you don't like, it's not my money lol

Not my money either. haha. I still try to be considerate of ownerships money to add a sense of realism. But, I don't think the patient approach has much, if anything, to do with spending money. They just want to build for long term success. Which means not getting wrapped up in rushing things and win now moves, and trying to be patient. Also, culture is more important than most fans give it credit for. You ever work somewhere where everyone is miserable and that misery just systematically perpetuates itself? It's awful. No bueno. haha. They don't want to be bogged down by bad contracts and a thin prospect pool.
