Hayes is JT Compher. Sillinger will be better unleashed from that jezebel ex-gf. Carlsson is coming.

Maybe he uhhh had a down year or a sophomore slump? Or maybe he was rushed and his freshman year was inflated by a high shooting percentage between him and his line mates? But no, blame the woman

He went from two extremely experienced playmakers to two fresh rookies on top of a bad early start due to concussions. Expect him to be back to form this year.

Carlsson is a year away and with 3 mil retention, Hayes goes from a liability of a contract to possibly even a little surplus value. He also costs nothing of consequence. It's not ideal, but like OP said in title, he's probably the best option due to his cheap acquisition cost and fits as a good short term plug in the top 6 as young guys develop. In yr 3 they can either move him out if needed or drop him down to 3C and have Boone play wing.

Yup. Not ideal but better than Kuzy, Lindholm or Scheifele with all things considered

You really want a $7M overpaid player infecting the roster? KH knows life is short and wont perform for an Also-Ran

He's not a 7 mil player here. I want absolutely nothing to do with him at that cost. At with 3 mil retention, he's probably making about 0.5-1mil less than market value for what he brings.

Ah, so his current AAV affects how he plays, lol.

What on earth are you talking about? He's getting paid the same no matter what what. How much he impacts CBJ's cap is a massive factor when they consider trading for him. It's not about how much money he's making, that's not changing.

I'm not sure if you're purposely being dense or if you actually don't understand what's going on. If Philly is retaining, he's not a 7 mil player for CBJ, not sure why that's so hard to understand
