Description
1. I think Treliving is going to sign/obtain a proven goalie. So they are willing to trade away Samsonov.
2. Puustinen is NHL ready and after thinking it through the top line is the best place for him. Sid and Jake are always on the same page and you can slot almost anyone there. Think a more talented Dom Simon.
3. Pens can hold off on Rutta while he recovers from surgery. Wait for teams to get through FA and then see who needs a RD.

Name a goalie available that is a better option than Samsonov?
Either via trade (which will cost assets) or FA

Gibson has asked for a trade, Maybe Hellebuyck, Frederik Andersen and Adin Hill are both UFAs

I don’t think that’s enough return for Sammy.

Hart has not to this proven he's anything different or better than Sammy, Helly sure but he's a UFA who will be unaffordable for TO , Demko hardly available and also hasn't shown anything more than what Sammy has

We've been down the Anderson road (didn't work out and he'll be more expensive) Adin Hill I'd have to agree after this year's playoffs would be an option but again does he come in at the 3.5-4.5 that TO can and is willing to afford?

There are some that are equal and maybe marginally better. But I agree with you, no reason to Leafs to trade Samsonov and get a more expensive goalie.
I agree with your above comment. Hart....so what? Hellebuyck....too expensive and Samsonov put up just as good numbers last year as Helly.

I was just listing G that are available. I like the Sammy/Woll combo for next year unless they go out and get a steal or freebie via UFA

It's not about who I perceive as a better option, it's about who Treviling does. Hart and Hellebyuck are being shopped. He might think Vladar is a better option and a cheaper one. Samsonov had a good season, but that doesn't mean he is their future plans.
