Gigantic over payment from NYR. All GMS know that PLD can just sign a 1 year walk to UFA... He wont go for nearly as much as people are mock trading him at, unless he has an extension for 7-8 years signed before the trade.

This would obviously include a sign and trade.

Even with a sign and trade, over payment like crazy.

Yeah, if he's wanting $9M x 8, that's way too much $$ for him at this point.

I don't think the Rangers would do that, but it would be nice if they would.

That's what is literally going to happen. He's got a list of 5-6 teams that he'd do a sign and trade 8 year deal with. Exactly like M Tkachuk

But that's the problem... He's not as valuable as Matthew Tkachuk.. you're making it seem like he is. He'll get half the value of the Tkachuk trade.

Tkachuk proved he was a 100pt, high end player before he demanded to be traded (and where). Dubois is a 60 pt player at this point, and doesn't have near the leverage to demand this Tkachuk kind of $$$ or treatment. Any team that signs him at his asking price is gonna regret that contract. I've always liked him as a player, but he's a diva and thinks he's worth more than he is.

Realistically I see PLD getting 7-8x$7250k AT MOST. And as for a trade, it's tough to say... Jets don't want to rebuild, so they wont want futures. And teams getting PLD want to get "that one piece" not give away a piece to get a piece.

Dubois will put himself at least amongst the Dylan Larkins of the world, I think $8.5m per season is the least he would accept, when he determines where he'd ultimately like to be.

Rangers won't really like this one. I think they'd be reticent to part with Chytl, but I don't see Laffy or Kappo being off the table to make this one happen. I also don't think the Jets are going to get a 1st along with that... maybe a 2nd.

Jets would take this trade all day long lol.. Rangers not so much.. Extended PLD and drop the pick and I think the Rangers are in on this one..
