The Avs are not going to trade Bo for a rental. And if he would sign an 8x6, he'd do it with the team he won the cup with. You would have a better chance of making an offer for Toews. Rental for rental. Not a 21 yo RFA.

Too much money? I kinda like it as a secondary avs fan. Nylander becomes your 2c. Liljegren is really good young dman.

Byram def hurts but I am really apprehensive on him just because he is so good he will need to get paid big money but he has never been reliable in his pro career. His profile has the potential to crater the Avs competitive window if they paid him say 7-8 and he was always injured.

Hokay so, Nylander does not, has not and will not play center in the nhl. Lili had a bad playoffs and his decision making is what removes any desire to add him. Also Byram is worth more than Nylander.

Nylander has played center in the NHL. I'd highly recommend not playing him there again. His game is much better on the wing.

Lili is consistently a top pairing D analytically. He seems to be someone who needs consistency and support to thrive and the Leafs haven't been giving him that. We didn't call him up for a long time cause they felt his development was better with consistent AHL minutes. He was our best right handed D last year then we we made a bunch of trades and created a competitive environment he crumbled. Horrible post trade deadline and in the playoffs.

I don't disagree with your sentiments, but there is more to it.

I did propose the trade with the idea that Nylander would sign an extension. I think he is very undervalued. He plays second line minutes, wasn't on our top PP in the playoffs or towards the end of last year and still put up over a PPG and was out best forward in the playoffs as usual.

Avs cannot afford Nylander on an extension so this is a pure rental which is why, each time it's proposed like 5x a day, the Avs decline here.

This is all bc of a 32 thoughts pod offhanded statement where Elliot basically said "how cool would it be if Nylander was on the Avs???", and Leafs fans are treating the same way as if he had said "How cool would Makar be on the Leafs???". Of course it would be cool. doesn't mean it would ever happen

Nylander can, has and likely will play center again. Lili had a bad playoffs? In what way? Because he was played over Holl to start with?

Byram may be worth more than Nylander but that perception could change with one injury. Nylander had 40 goals at 26 yrs old. So the only way Byram is worth more is on potential.

The reason I consider the trade is because Byram's health has constantly plagued him. If he starts playing 75+ games a yr maybe but his last 3 are 19, 30, 42. Its abysmal. Whats your level of concern with his health? be honest. Don't say nothing or you'll obviously be homering in your opinion.

Please provide some stats to show how is is an underused center? He is a soft winger who produces.

Lili might as well be a pizza delivery guy the way he coughs up the puck. His positioning and decision making were abysmal. The Avs play too high of tempo for him to do well. I would rather Timmins if I was to target a Leafs' dman.

Byram's injuries are something that is of concern and should be/will be brought up during his current negotiations. This year wasn't head related and was just a misdiagnosis or wrong treatment route for a knee sprain. I do not have an issue with his low games played to start his career, is what it is and may help to keep his cap hit lower for the time being. He was the Avs best defender in the SCF(that they won) and plays Avalanche hockey to a tee.

Nylander is a really good producer but, he gives the puck away instead of coming anywhere close to contact, which does not help his linemates. Bednar doesn't reward soft play. If the Avs want a free floating winger, I would look at Hall, he will be cheaper to acquire and in cap.
