Offseason v5

Team: 2023-24 Philadelphia Flyers
Initial Creation Date: Jun. 12, 2023
Published: Jun. 12, 2023
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade #1
To EDM: Travis Konecny, Felix Sandstrom
To PHI: Kailer Yamamoto, Philip Broberg, Carter Savoie, 2024 1st round pick (EDM)

Think this is going to be one of the more realistic / fair offers out there for TK. Really depends on how high Broberg is valued by PHI and if he can be the centerpoint in a deal. Doubt they'd include Holloway and Savoie is a decent mid level prospect to add into the fold. All upside shot with Yamamoto and the 1st rounder is going to be in the 20-32 range next year.

Trade #2
To BOS: Nick Seeler, 120th overall
To PHI: Jakub Zboril, 92nd overall

BOS is able to shed some cap and take on a depth defensemen that can help round out their defense. PHI gets to move up 28 spots in the middle rounds for taking on the cap. Expect BOS to have some other cap moves so this may not be the most ideal move for them, but the value seems fair to me.

Trade #3
To OTT: Scott Laughton
To PHI: Tyler Boucher

Rumors are that PHI has declined late first round picks for Laughton and there is popular interest in Laughton from multiple teams, including OTT. Figure his value is somewhere in between any of the usual swiss army knife trades -- Coleman, Barbashev, Goodrow, etc. Personally think Boucher is more interesting trade piece compared to a late first but I think GMDB might be able to get more.

Trade #4
To CBJ: Kevin Hayes (30% RS), 92nd overall
To PHI: Adam Boqvist, 194th overall

CBJ has a surplus of RHD available and think Boqvist is the most expendable / most attractive trade piece. CBJ has been long connected to Kevin Hayes and his time has run its course in PHI. Still a solid player and a more reasonable fit with the retained salary. Not sure how many other centers would be on the market that can be reasonably priced for CBJ wouldn't be apposed to other sorts of ranges on a Hayes return.

Pretty sure Boucher isn't even close to the value of a first round pick at this point

Yeah all of these deals I understand the reasoning and think they are fine value wise but the Laughton trade stinks imo. Boucher hasn’t developed at all and was a huge reach when originally drafted.

If you're getting Boqvist, you're retaining half on Hayes. Otherwise, thats fine by CBJ.

Yeah I'd that that TK trade. Losing Broberg is tough and he will def develop in a great top 4 piece for Philly but rn TK is a much better fit

In all honesty Konecny - especially if Edmonton is able to extend him as the rumours suggest - is one of a few players I'd properly move Holloway for in lieu of Broberg.

I'd appreciate 50% retention in that case however, assuming Yamamoto and the 1st are still part of the package.
