Let's assume for purposes of this discussion that Konecny = the first plus Niemela. Then the retention = the future third. That would make three seasons of Laughton = one season of Brodie, prospect Robertson and the fifth. That doesn't add up, in my opinion.

PHI is going to want a 1st+ for Laughton and probably 2 1st+ for Konency.

I don't get why you would acquire Laughton to just stuff him into a L4 role, one that Lafferty can do just fine for ~2M cheaper. If Laughton comes in, there's not much sense in getting Domi as the 3C even if you plan on using Domi as a 2/3C.

It is certainly not a valid comp. The market is different, the teams are different the player is way different. There is no “valid” comp.
