why would the Rangers pay assets to take on a bad goalie they don't need that they couldn't afford anyway?

Ryan Graves is easily getting 5M+ this summer. 3.3M is pretty laughable. If he was willing to sign for that cheap Toronto wouldn't be trading for Zadorov and would instead just sign Graves.

Flames would rather keep Zadorov, moving up from 48 to 28 probably isn't worth losing Zadorov for Minten, especially if we are trading Hanifin too and have no reasonable replacement for both (because of the aforementioned Graves offer).

Lastly if Calgary is targeting any of Florida's wingers it should Reinhart

Suddenly zadorov is worth a 1st + Minten? And here I thought the Laughton trade proposals were rock bottom, apparently not. Atrocious

he's got an .898 save percentage through 3 seasons, he's certainly not a ~good~ goalie

Rangers have no cap space for an overpaid back-up goalie.

I like zadorov as a 3rd pair D, but certainly not at that price tag. Maybe for a 3rd or 4th

3 seasons? You call 5 games seasons? After 4 of those games he was at a .920 sv%.

As for the other 2 seasons you only looking at numbers really shows a lot. Watch some of his games and you would realize he is far from a bad goalie and absolutely has 1 A/B potential. Calgary was once again top 3 in the league for shot suppression. so the quality of shots that do get through to the goalies is relatively higher than most of the league. Carolina was #1 in shot suppression, hence why their goalies actual save percentages look pretty subpar when in reality they had quite solid goaltending all year.

How cheap are you expecting to get a competent back-up goalie for exactly?

The Rangers have a bit of a cap issue if you haven't noticed. Halak was fine at $1.5m/year last season and they may not be able to afford that again. It's all about the cap. Plus, they have some kids in Hartford that may be ready to move up such as Garand. Bottom line is they can't afford anywhere near $2.2m for a back up goalie.

Then word your statement better. Say "Rangers cant afford that." Because calling Vladar overpaid is fundamentally wrong. I have no issue with agreeing its a bad fit but you called him overpaid which I absolutely 100% disagree with

Rangers have no use for Vladar, he's too expensive they'd rather sign a FA goalie for cheaper.

Ah, semantics. You need to read what is written and when someone says "overpaid for a back up", that's what it means. If you didn't realize that he would be a back up for Igor, then you don't know much about hockey, and that's not my fault.

You are blaming me for your poor communication skills? Yes he would be back-up to Igor. No he is bot overpaid. I should not have to read your mind to understand what you meant to say
