Im not sure any of those are the over payments PHI would want to move such key youngish guys like Hart or Koneckny. certainly you trade hart, koneckny, laughton for overpayments, I dont think these are. Theres no point in signing a Barbarshev for 4 yrs if you're rebuild is going to take 3.

Also, getting so many 2024 picks, players who likely wont help until 2026, is basically wasting 3 years of York, Tippett, Cates, Frost, foerster, brink, andrae, etc... now.

Hayes, DeAngelo sure, you make those deals if they're available, and if VAN is crazy enought (they arent) to make that deal, you take it, but ultimately:

The flyers rebuild has already started with 10-14 players at age 25 or less, with almost 10 of them in their 3rd year or less
You have bluechips in gautheir, the 7th overall in 2023, on the way and solid high prospects like andrae, foerster, brink already here = rebuild started
you dont sit on 8mil in cap space, (even though they already have 11 mil in cap dumps)

Well yeah they will add more bad contracts and broker deals at the trade deadline too and stack more picks. I don’t know how much more ur going to get for TK Laughton and Hart and I tend to overvalue them anyway.

Not bad. I’m not very high on Holloway, but retention would absolutely need to be added. If it’s the flyers retaining, or a third party. I like Konecny, and he would be a really good fit in our top 6 next to one of McDavid, or Draisaitl. Just out of curiosity, how much for both Konecny, and Laughton?

In my opinion and rumours, based on EDM's picks: Laughton is probably worth EDM 1st and maybe a bit more, Koneckny is probably worth Holloway and EDm 2024 1st and a 2nd at least. So:

Laughton and Koneckny for 2023 EDM 1st, 204 EDM 1st, 2023 EDM 2nd and Holloway is probably a weak-ish deal for PHI. PHI is listening to offers and I think both of them do real well on the open market and will get better offers (maybe not collectively)

Agreed with @Hammerwise I would do:

TK (50% retention) for 2023 1st, Holloway, and Broberg or Bourg
Laughton for 2024 1st and any year 2nd

No team that wants TK is going to give up a prospect/ELC player like Holloway. Broberg ++ is probably the base for any TK deal

For what where are we going to put Broberg? In for York and Sanheim? Or are we going to bury him on the 3rd line and that means we have already give up on Andrea and our other prospects? We have like 4-5 LHD already I fail to see how getting another one for Tk is a good decision in any way. Give me Holloway or go run it back for another 2nd round exit, they are only wasting the career of one of the best players of all time.

Would rather have Lassi than the other two. If it’s a worse trade in ur opinion why do you even care?

I don't see how Broberg is "giving up" on Andrea. He's probably going to play another full season down in the AHL and won't be on the NHL roster unless there is an injury. Not trading for young players because they *might* block a future prospect's development is a terrible strategy. Flyers have 1 good LHD and that's York.

EDM needs players like Holloway to round out their roster. There is also a low switching cost at this point for buyers compared to sellers so PHI would be wise to take a deal now for TK while his value is at its peak compared to sitting on their hands waiting around. TK for Broberg + Savoie + 1st is fair imo

I get it but LHD is literally our deepest position. If we are giving up our top players for futures it has to be for positions of need. Star forwards are next to impossible to acquire they have to be drafted. Star defenseman are easier to trade for. If I have to give up on Holloway I take a 1st, Brob, and Bourg and it’s non-negotiable and we trade him elsewhere. I’m tired of everyone wanting flyers players but wanting to pay pennies on the dollar for them. Provy was brutal for 3 years, on a worse contract, and has locker room issues and we got a 1st and two 2nds for him. We should be getting double that for TK.

I wouldn't consider TK anywhere near "star" caliber. If EDM wants to pony up Holloway they can probably get Keller, who is far better than TK. The market for defensemen and forwards are completely different, you aren't going to get double Provorov's market value for TK. Prov was also only traded for a 1st and 2nd, the 2nd and Grans was for the retained salary and dumping Petersen and Walker.

Thank you for your comments, and honestly. I would probably just trade for one, but I appreciate seeing how much for both, and separate! The oilers should look to trade with Philadelphia, then upgrade elsewhere as well, as they have quite a few holes before becoming true cup contenders in my opinion. We also don’t have our 23 first, so it would have to be the 24 first instead if we were to make a trade.

I think PHI could take back a salary, like yamamoto or ceci (although they'd have to move a RD like deangelo), even though they dont want/need, in a deal, but TK at 50% for Yamamoto, 2024 EDM 1st, 2023 EDM 2nd, Broberg and maybe a future 3rd or a midlevel prospect.

PHI has alot of LD, and Holloway would be preferable, but taking back a contract and eating retention would cost
