Please explain how a team that has 17 LD would trade for hanifan and give up massive pieces for it? This is a no brianer pass, player doesn't fit and they wouldn't waste assets making their biggest strength stronger, they would need to address other areas. Pass all freaking day

People gotta stop trying to send Detroit the LHD they don't want.

If Detroit uses the 17OA pick, It's going to be for a scoring winger. Not a LHD we don't need.

As others have said, Hanifin isn't a fit for Detroit. Better suited being sent elsewhere

I appreciate I don't jnow enough about the teams D depth, but address who you feel are All the stronger LD on the list here that you would put in your top 4 in place of Hanafin? It really is just a trade idea for Hanafin, there several teams that could use him and I am sure are trying right now to get him. Appreciate the info smile

Could you expand on why they "Don't want" him. He would easily be top 4, maybe top 2 on Detroit, is going to be highly sought after right now, is a strong skater and can work PK and PP, youngish etc. ? Respectfully,
D.

LD is the only position Detroit really doesn't need, I think hanifan is great and has great value, just with a different team. Now if you want to move Rasmus, we can talk

Excuse my other Wings' fans; we deal with a lot of trades that fail to account for the Red Wings' needs. However, this makes sense since you're taking Wallinder, who is projected to be one of the two top LHD in our team.

With that said, I'd rather have Wallinder+17. Wallinder's ceiling is supeeeeer high and he looked really good in the SHL.

Wallinder is a phenomenal, criminally underrated, prospect. Lead the U21 in the SHL in points and was Rogle's #1 D-Man logging 22+ minutes a night. He's 6'4" and a greeeaaaat skater. He is a fun one to watch, cannot wait to see him in the AHL.

Yeah; I only get cranky if it's egregiously bad. This is fine, but not suited for Detroit; we have no need to sell our futures for the now, especially if we think our futures will be better than said now.

Detroit currently has 3 rostered LHD, and 3 top prospects that are all LHD, including their top prospect Simon Edvinsson. It's just not a need for Detroit.

Chariot moved to the right so that eliminated 1 the other 10 didn't receive QO since they were mad at cap friendly people for trying to take their jobs

For the 2024 1st I would do that trade.

Don't let the homers fool you by already putting Wallinder on the Wings. He is a really nice prospect but no guarantee he's ever an NHL Dman. I just wouldnt use the 2023 1st for Hanifin.

He's not on the wings he will be in the ahl, we still have many other LD on the roster as well as many in the pipeline, yet again we would be trading to bolster our biggest strength and we would be using these assets to bolster positions of weakness. But keep going on like you know what your talking about

There's no guarantee he will EVER be on the Wings. We have Waldman, Maata, Chiarot that are NHL-ready DMen right now - that's about it. Maata and Chiarot obviously not a part of this teams future core.

Hanifin is a young, cost-controlled top 4 Dman that is NHL ready NOW, so trading for an asset like that makes perfect sense at any time.

Name all the prospects and assets you want, most will not turn into NHL players.
