Chicago has deep pockets. They should be taking bad contracts and getting paid in picks and prospects. Not giving up picks to get them. Even sevenths. Go bail out the Leafs and take Murray and make them pay your for it. Your one big advantage for grabbing cap contracts is having deep pockets and being able to absorb the contracts many other teams with space won't touch. Use it. Make them cough up assets.

Hawks dont make either of those trades. They value Murphy more than that return in the Buffalo trade. And I doubt AZ wants to trade Little's contract.

Why would BUF trade Okposo anyway? They could've just as easily not resigned him.

They definitely wouldn't. He has alluded to it being the Sabres or retirement, so I'd imagine the 1 year contracts will be the norm for him until he hangs them up which may end up being next year. Also some of the younger players were even referring to him as dad IIRC, there's no way they'd trade the team dad

Right? I wasn't aware of all those details, but, yeah, that was kind of my point. They would have just not re-signed him if they wanted to move him. But yeah, he is a leader in that room regardless of how late in his career it is.
