No pun intended but the Flames are not getting burned on a trade with big stars again, at least not right after. The Huberdeau trade worked because it came with a brand new contract with term. This would not be the case. Nylander is achievable though. And with the Leafs potentially cap strapped, maybe for something different than that package

I value 1 year rental of Nylander higher than that return. Toronto shouldn't be interested in futures and would be looking to get a similar player at a different position back that may also be a pending UFA. Or send him somewhere that he will sign long term and get a larger return.

I’m going to say the leafs decline here. While there’s is some good value for Nylander here, leafs can do way better than what you’ve put up on the plate here. Goodrow is a good piece but Nylander just put up 40 goals. Leafs aren’t looking for futures right now. I don’t think it will be hard to find a team that willy wants to go to and do a sign and trade situation maybe even a 1 for 1 situation for another RW or an RD elsewhere in the league. But for this threads purpose I’ll do a counter offer.

Chytil and Schneider, 2nd
For
Nylander (8x9.5), Timmins, 3rd

My explanation is that you get Nylander for 9 years who is a 40 goal scorer and a RD who puts up points and is a fantastic puck mover. Leafs in return get a new centre who who can play 2nd or third line and get that RD they always needed.

I’ll be happy to hear your counter or if you accept or not

NYR cannot do an extension for Nylander, they simply cannot afford it (mainly because that Panarin trade would not go through). Not that Leafs accept the deal posted-- just if NYR trade for Nylander it's from a pure rental standpoint. I'm sure Toronto could get a better offer for a sign and trade.

Different angle:
A million post a day to scroll through, only 3 realistic lol.
We shouldn't Have to respond, but it's needed. We shouldn't have to read an essay or type repetitive paragraphs to learn peeps lol. Less homerism, research other teams cap & needs instead of trigger finger posting. Then, there's the funny offersheets and NTC trading to ridiculous destinations. Hence these trades are moot.
Hope my criticism was constructive

Harsh Comment.

No but in all seriousness… I thought hard bout that Nylander/Timmons for Chytil/Scheinder trade. Not only could the affordability of it without moving Panarin like previously mentioned… Losing Chytil weakens an already weak position and I think I have a man crush on Scheinder. Lol

I haven’t seen a lot of love for giving Zac Jones a shot at bottom pair, so I like him more than most out of homerism or naivety?

Good post and good replies.

There's absolutely no way Panarin waives to go to CGY. He'd have to pay more taxes, and live in a more vanilla city, and deal with the Canadian media and healthcare.

I would do that trade in a heart beat as a Flames fan, because Panarin is a game breaker and NYR would regret losing him for anything less than another star. Moreover I suspect that his contract would look more than reasonable with the next cap increase. It would be very difficult this season to make the cap work, but I wouldn't mind losing more of our UFA's to be in order to make space for Panarin. The 1st round pick doesn't seem like something CGY would like to involve in such a trade, but if that's the price you do it.

It sure was 😊👍 but I'm not with thin skin. If I post garbage posts and disrespectful post I think it is fair to get it served back. My main point was how can someone post garbage and demand respect? Seems like some posts are made to anger people and try to get people banned for their reactions.

I know but realistically 90 % of all posts are not based in reality or value/need. I know Panarin isn't going to CGY but that is not my point. My point is actually if you post ridiculous posts is it fair to demand respect? I don't know, maybe maybe not...
In my world to demand respect you must show respect but perhaps I'm too old for this ? 🙂

Do you think no team will offer Laf over 3.5 aav? just feel like that might be a low number on him

I don't see anyway Calgary does this for Panarin taking into account his age, salary. Not to mention Panarin would never waive NTC to go to Calgary. He wants to be in a big media, that's why he signed with the Rangers.

Wouldn't be much of a point for teams to make like 4 M dollar offer because that would be matched. And anything over that is risky and bad business. Also most contending teams are up at the cap too. Don't think Laf will sign with a team that won't play post season.

I know, but does realism being considered in 98 % of the proposals? No. I do see Panarin getting the Kuznetsov treatment this upcoming season from Peter. Maybe he realises his golden days in NY is numbered?
