Petry would cost the Sabres $10,000,000 next year while losing Henri, who played over 20 min per game.
Drop Jokiharju for the Sabres to consider the deal.

Petry is basically a dump for Pittsburgh, why is Buffalo retaining so much.
Petry and Pittsburgh 1st for Olofsson 1.75m retained and LA's 3rd

i dont think its that far off imo, it saves them damn near 7 mil to sign Addison and Gustavfsson, they cant sign Gus if they dont trade the both of them

CHI doesn't need to take on cap for the sake of taking on cap. The 4th is not the sort of compensation teams looking to take on cap, go after.

Ruuta isnt that bad, Chicago needs to increase their cap hit to hit the floor, Yotes got a 3rd in 2025 for taking on 2.5m of Kane's contract, in which they didnt even get a player.

The Kane trade was at the deadline and AZ actual retention in real dollars was less than $300k. Rutta has two full years left on his deal and is still owed $5m in actual salary. Hawks decline.

We are not trading out of the 1st to dump salary and get 2nd round picks. We don’t need more B prospects. We definitely don’t need a goalie. If anything, we should trade up in the 1st round.

with 3 second rounders this year and 2 next year you can absolutely trade back into the first this year. you basically move back 18 spots, get rid of 5.75m, get another 2nd and a 3rd

Fleury has a NMC. If he wants to go to Pittsburgh, then he can be had for a 3rd. Foligno can be had for a 2nd or 3rd from a contender. Neither one of these trades require trading our 1st for two 2nds in hopes that we can then trade those two 2nds (+) to get back into the 1st round.

i hate to tell you this but fleury is a negative asset with that contract and not many teams will bite on Foligno as a rental for a 3rd after what he did in the playoffs.

Oh well, then we don’t move them. That’s fine. We are not forced to moved them.

The Yotes only took on very minimal Real $ and still got the 3rd! Ruuta has been at CHI so we know all about him and we don't need defensemen and don't have any issues reaching the cap floor. Again, I will reiterate that teams looking to take on cap dumps don't actively pursue mid to late round draft compensation as a priority when looking to weaponise cap space.

Maybe ship Rutta off to VAN, they got cap space now and could be open to getting paid to do so if they feel Rutta could fit...

We should get the 1st, JUST to take Petry & his terrible cap hit
Where’s the value we get for a 2nd round pick, AND Jokiharju with Cap held, AND Olofsson with Cap held ??

I just don’t see this as a trade that even comes close in reality

Plus, even u call Perty a 3rd pair guy
And there’s just no way we are looking for 3rd pair guys
Especially not at a Cap hit of over $6mil 🤮🤮🤮
