Leafs decline. They don’t need or want cap dump Wheeler for Muzzin who is LTIRetired. Respect for trying to get something for Wheeler though, don’t think their are any takers for that cancer

He only has one year left on his deal, and because you're including 2023 picks in the trade, that means this deal happens before any extension talks can take place.

Kings have no use for one season of Mark Scheifele, and if we want to sign him to a new contract, we can do so when he's a free agent in 2024. But I think that we'll have a bigger fish to fry.

Los Angeles had statistically the same number of even-strength goals as Toronto this past season, and had five players record 20 points or more on the power play, so Scheifele's contribution wouldn't have as noticeable an effect as you might think.

I think people tend to forget OR are incapable/refuse to empathize with professional athletes that are playing & living in places they don’t want to be at.

Playing hockey for millions of dollars is absolutely a blessing and I am sure these players are grateful for that but, ultimately most people do not want to live or work in Columbus Ohio or Winnipeg.

There aren’t any issues with him causing problems with his teammates or anything like that and he has been professional and productive. The guy just wants to play where he wants to play. If that happens to be Montreal or in this case, Detroit; I am perfectly fine with and understanding of that.
