Now that the dust has settled on the end of the season a bit, here is my take on the current roster and moves we need to make, many of which are contrary to some of the other proposed teams I've put together.
Signed Forwards: The only true trade targets are Turbo and Drury. Drury is a no brainer, he wants out, and he's easy to replace with guys in the system or by resigning MacEachern
Turbo is tougher, but to me it's undeniable, he's declining. His contract isn't terrible, but is a bit of an overpay. I'd trade him for picks and use the salary on signing a goal scorer either through trade or FA.
Necas is super frustrating, but at $3m, we can afford to wait another year for him to be a key performer in the playoffs. But if someone is willing to trade a true star....I'd listen, but I don't see that happening. As frustrating as he is, the production per $ is hard to beat...worth one more year.
I've seen Jarvis included in trade proposals, but I'm a big believer in him....he actually played well in the playoffs, is getting more physical and I think just committed to being great...especially when it counts the most.
I can't see them dropping below 3rd. Buffalo's goaltending and defense is maybe worse than Ottawa's and Ottawa's is garbage too. You could argue Florida, but that's so unpredicatble. I still think Boston cakewalk into 3 in the Atlantic
Levi looked very good at the latter end of the year.
I have a lot of faith in him being a phenomenal goalie as soon as this season -- or at least, good enough to ensure a divisional spot. They're also just a 2RD away from having a very good top 4.
Ottawa reaaaallly needs a goalie bad. Could see Carter Hart, who isn't a great solution but could be enough. I certainly think both of these teams are propped to be better than Boston next year, assuming they target some issues whether it be through trade or FA (more likely trade since the FA stinks).
So what, guys that are UFA's in a year don't have value? You should give Boston back their ick for Bertuzzi, he was a UFA in 6 months!
Ofc they have value. But you were talking about 9th overall pick. Big difference between 9th overall pick in super good Draft vs a 2024 (BOS) 1st which is Top 10 Protected.

There's also a big difference between a winger that had 2 broken hands in the season he was traded for that 1st, and one of the best DFD in the league who makes pennies on the dollar and is a core piece of one of the best teams in the NHL...
The Miller deal all depends on what NYR can match. So yes, like I said, you may have to go to the next level of comp and sign to a 1-2 yr deal....but I already said that.
We just disagree on Tuzzi, I think he'll be worth that no problem...especially in the playoffs. you're not a believer, ok.

I think you're delusional truthfully on Bert. He played 7 games and was eh on the best team ever as they lost to Florida. If that's what you're getting him for, steer well clear. Martinook had 10 points in the Devil series. You think he's worth 6.25 a year? He's a little older, but he's not got the same injury issues.
Miller would have to be a 1 year deal at a much higher cap hit
This may be the pathetically, uninformed thing I've ever read on this website. If you watched Bertuzzi in these playoffs and still don't think he's great then I doubt your ability to make accurate assessments.

What a load of bullsh*t. He was mediocre at best. Everyone's fawning over him because the great Bruins team, oh they're so good. Yet, he was a middle of the road winger. In fact, the Marchand - Bergeron - Bertuzzi line was the 3rd worst of any team in the postseason in xGF. Bertuzzi - Krejci - Pasta had the worst xG% of any line in this playoffs. If you can read these stats, watched that series, and still think he's good, I highly doubt your ability to make accurate assessments.
Oh and if you want to fact check me, here you go, have fun.

That’s the beautiful thing, everyone is entitled to their opinion no matter how wrong yours is
