canes flip their defense

Description
All that movement and we only lost 3 roster players. pretty good.

If we give Aho 8x 10 million, Jarvis 8 x 7, Demelo 4 x4, Chatfield 5 x 3, and Nino a 4 x 5

that would leave us with 8.5 million to keep Martinook, get a 3LD, 2 extras, 1 4th liner, and 1 3rd winger for 24-25. That is doable.

but this all fantasy as I dont see the Jets' fans liking the trade. Necas wants to play center. Jets will need a center with Scheifele and PLD likely gone. Extend necas with a nice 8 year deal to play center and he'll be just fine.

I'd want Morrow instead of Drury if I were the Flyers.

I had a trade approval for Laughton and Seeler for drury, a 2nd, and gunler. I knew Philly was asking 2 1sts for TK. Basically I just mashed the 2 trades together.

One person saying they would take that trade doesn’t speak for everyone. I agree that the Flyers would want Morrow. They need help at C, yes but they want to focus on building out the defense. Especially with a forward heavy draft they will be targeting D prospects in trade, especially RHD ( as they already showed with the provorov deal)

sure but this individual was only one saying yes or no. what was i supposed to do? I could sub in Heimosalmi in this deal instead of Gunler. Morrow is already spoken for.

Yeah you are going backwards there with that sub in terms of value. I didn’t say we’d take just any RHD. And btw you are getting absolutely robbed in that WPG trade. A high quality RD prospect, a young almost PPG forward, a recent former first rounder , a 1st round pick and 2 seconds for a defenseman who just had a career year and you don’t know if they will repeat that, a 3rd pair dman and a goo middle 6 winger. WPG takes that and loses your number so you don’t try to take it back

unfortunately, you have to ay overpay or way underpay to generate discussion and its is an overpay, it is what it is. Heimo isnt just any RHD. THW had him as the 88th prospect in the league. Gunler isnt on the list.

we would likely shrink the deal down to keep morrow out instead of moving Morrow inter-division.

Sabres give you Rosen or the 1st. Definitely don't get both.

you would be the first to say that so, ill take it under consideration. Buffalo fans have accepted the idea.

Take a look at the top 4 defenseman market in the past year. I can promise you, you won't get both from Buffalo, nor will you get similar value from any other team. 13 and Rosen? And a 2nd? Feel free to revisit this post, post-trade.

i would have promised you wouldnt get more than a 3rd round pick for Jeannot but i was wrong. I dont find the dealing of pesce to be overly realistic anyways. even then taken Rosen out of the deal isnt a huge thing cuz I overpaid Winnipeg anyways. So we would just take him out of that deal with little issue.

Apples and screwdrivers my man. The Sabres are not the Lightning in their competitive curve. If Pesce doesn't re-sign, they all but came out and said he's getting traded. So, until that extension is in place, you're already dealing with the 'negative' value of teams knowing you want/need to trade him before the TDL to get any value for him.

The Sabres 1st, Sabres 2nd or Jokiharju is probably close. This value resembles both Provorov and Chychrun, respectively given their ages, terms and talent.

not apples and screwdrivers. i mean GMs value players and contracts differently. Doesnt mean Adams wont overvalue Pesce if he really believes he helps put them over the hump and finally get into the playoffs.

As the market has shown, top 4 defensemen can be had. Pesce is not the only guy around the league in his class of player. I really do encourage you to take a trip through the defensive trades in the past even two years. The only guy who exceeded the value of a 1st and a 2nd was Seth Jones, as he's seen/was seen as a top pair defenseman.

Look, if I'm wrong, feel free to put me on blast. I'm pretty confident I won't be.

Jarvis will need to have 60-80 points this year to get 8 x 7. I see him as a bridge at 3-4 years at 4-5 mil

you give a guy money for 8 years based on their projections. If he you think he is a 70-80 point guy, you sign him to a deal that pays him like that over 8 years knowing he will likely grow beyond that. but he if he reaches 70-80 points he will cost more than 7 million per because he will likely grow beyond that from 23-27.

I guess I’m thinking more that Jarvis would rather take a bridge and bet on himself and the cap going up
