As a WPG Jet fan, I like these trades a lot. But you will have to help LAK out by retaining and/or taking something CAP from them. They can't afford to take on both of those contracts.

Byfield can not be moved, especially if Vilardi is already in the package. Durzi, Vilardi, Arvidsson, 2nd, 1st, and Grundstrom would be LA's counter for PLD and Helle (50% retained)

50% retention would have to happen, and even after this I still believe LA is over the cap, and that's assuming PLD wants $8.5Mx8, Kupari, Bjornfot, JAD take minimums, the 3LD signs a minimum, and LA only has 2 healthy scratches, even with that the Kings are still over the cap by $1M. It's too many assets being asked, and LA should just wait. Several notable UFAs and RFA centers will be available and it gives LA another year to see how Byfield does.

AZ would take both guys - GM likes big Dman and stanley is big, maybe change of scenery he needs and Appleton same thing might be decent big 6, but AZ not giving pick to take them. WPG saves 3.2m cap on guys (assuming stanley they sign at 1m)

Ahh that clears up a lot, makes the whole trade scenario more understandable. I feel like his asking price is ridiculous anyways.
