Dubois reportedly wants closer to the 9.15 AAV range.

Yeah.. I'm no longer interested in him. Not paying 9m for a 60pt 2C. Hopefully he priced himself out of most of the teams he's asking to go to.

As they should. Apparently the Jets wanted Vilardi back, and then to pay PLD 9m? Massive overpay.

We were out before this discussion started, I think Blake just needs to talk to every single young center as Kopitar is heading to the end of his career and Byfield hasn't taken over. We'll make our move next season when Kopitar is off the books.

He is saying this so he forces the Jets hand to trade him to the HABS and then signs a 8yr $64M deal

It`s all part of his tactics to come back home

I think the Jets are asking for WAYY too much. Their inability to acknowledge the word “rebuild” is going to shoot them in the foot.

Is Gabe Villardi too much? I don't know, doesn't seem like it to me. Not if it's just him.

At $9M the Kings would need to move Vilardi, Arvidsson, and one of Moore or Iafallo. Even with that done, they still wouldn't have enough to sign a starting goaltender. I don't care what 32 thoughts says, Blake could just be doing his due diligence, but massive pieces would need to be moved and the trade would likely need to include Hellebuck with retention or LA let's the Jets figure this out on their own.

Lol just saying I’d trust what Elliot Friedman said over tryger! I’d also be in shock if he got 9m I’d imagine it’s in the 7m range. The Kings could also be looking at just his 1 year qualifying offer which is in the 6m range which makes things a little different aswell

Boston LA Canes : Out, who say that it was a 4-5-6 team bidding war few days ago .... Yet HABS ARE ALL IN ALONE into this cuz as explained Jets do not hold any leverage at all.

They quote rumors, I fully believe Blake is looking into this, but Helle needs to be coming back 50% retained and they need to take back almost 7-10M in contracts. Go ahead make this work as an ACGM and get PLD and LA a starting goalie, you need to move massive pieces.

Matthews, Aho, Scheifele, Lindholm. Heck, you could probably trade for Lindholm and pay for less.

Yep, this is it, Kings get to be a playoff team with $10M coming to the books if Byfield doesn't break out, and even if Byfield breaks out, he likely takes a bridge and Kopitar returns on a budget contract.

LA is set to make cup-contending moves next season.

I honestly don't even think the Habs are in. Hughes has been more worried about trading up than trading for Dubois. Winnipeg AND Dubois gotta lower the asking price.

Vilardi scored 5 less goals in a lesser role and is like 2x the player PLD is defensively. He's also definitely going to cost much less than PLD's 8-9m.

Finding a goalie is no.1 imo. If you're going for a cheap vet backup I'd look at Allen, Jones, Varlomov, Comrie then find a guy like Knight or Swayman or Ullmark.

Friedman just re-quotes rumours and speculations. He doesn't have THAT much insider info.

If the Kings can get good value moving Arvidsson (Vilardi or Fiala to replace him), both Adin Hill and Freddie Andersen are with teams with not much cap space and have played extensively in the Pacific. Kings have options, but this PLD to LA stuff feels like a smokescreen for something else.

You have no idea what the Jets are asking for nor what the habs, kings, bruins, rangers, etc etc etc might offer!

Jets reportedly stated if they move any of their big name players they will not be rebuilding. It's easy to assume they want roster pieces to help them now. Which is why teams trading for these players would be in contention windows, they aren't selling roster pieces. It'd be futures. It's easy to put 2 and 2 together.
Aside from that, Dubois himself is asking for too much.

definitely starting to feel like a smokescreen, don't think they were ever REALLY interested in him

For both helle and PLD? Yeah I’d imagine something like Arvidsson and Iaffalo would be going back to make money work something along those lines
