I've been seeing some posts moving 11 OA. I don't know if the pick is on the block, but if the Canucks are open to moving it, what are they looking for in a deal?

A little bit of both.

I don't think Barron is worth a first and I don't think they need to get rid of Myers. (Davidson is a 5th round overager, so I give him 0 value).

I haven't watched Barron since the WJC, so if he's now amazing maybe I'm wrong. I think there would have to be insane value for the Canucks to give up the 11th pick without gaining additional draft capital (i.e. move back).

Alright. I am not trying to dump the Habs position on Barron he will play on their top pair this year next to Matheson. Not because he deserves it yet, but because they don't have anyone else.

He is probably the most important Habs prospect as relates to our Blue Line this year and I am offering him up for your 11 OA.

I get that you are sceptical, but he's a good 2way defender with elite skating and he's gonna be a good player in this league for a lot of years.

Anyway, thank you for the conversation, and for not being a "dink" about it

Wait... What garbage? Justin Barron is garbage?

Compared to 11 OA, yes. Barron is nice, but this isn't the same tier of value at all.

That's literally what I offered you. Justin Barron is a young top 4 Defender.

I agree that he will become that, but he isn't there yet. If we are playing the waiting game, I'd rather pick whoever is there at 11oa, who will no doubt have higher upside than Barron. Moving the pick should be for a clear upgrade, and unfortunately this isn't that. The incentive simply isn't there.

Hoglander is a forward. Barron is a Defenseman. You have to KNOW they take longer, or else you are not paying attention.

That’s not the point… Barton’s value hasn’t shot uo because of a few points in the NHL. I think he will be a good #4-5, but he is not an 11th overall pick level talent

Look at the age comparables

Sure he has a couple points, but his underlying numbers right now are underwhelming. Stop trying to sell him for the 11th overall. Canuck’s wouldn’t even trade the 11th overall for Filip Hronek who is a significantly better player and was one of the NHL leaders in WAR

Not something the Canucks should consider.

At this point I'm no longer trying to trade him, I'm trying to make you see that your comments about him were misguided.

There just aren't that many RHD with 2way upside coming into the league each year, and if you want one you have to pay to get them.

Expand that query I sent you to players 25 and younger. It's a short list and Barron is still near the top of it next to some really big names

This is a wild straw-man argument. Not to mention, they have literally already traded a first round pick in THIS years draft.

You can not like the trade and not be a dink at the same time.

The Value of Hronek compared to Barron is a massive gap.
