I know stats aren't everything but Colton and Sharangovich put up identical offensive stats. And you expect the Devils to give two extra picks and pay Colton more than Shara? To me it doesn't make sense to the Devils.

Colton provides playoff experience, if thats the trade off if we're taking the next step I'm okay with this. Plus some familiarity with Palat!

You drastically under value Colton. So gladly neither team does it.
By the way they put the "same stats " with Sherengovich playing almost 5 mpg more.

We should sign Jack Johnson instead, because of his playoff experience

What he said wasn’t incorrect though, regarding traditional stats.

Funny but I would most definitely trade for someone who comes from a winning organization

Which is a bad take, because winning organization means nothing when it comes to the player in a vacuum

We had this conversation already. Ross Colton was put into offensive situations plus power play time that Sharangovich was not

That’s fine, but it’s not particularly hard to measure how long a player is on the ice for a PP, or what zone the faceoff they come out is in. That’s just ignorance to the context of the minutes/game you’re citing

Picks should be going the other way

Well, Devils won more games last year. Also got further in playoffs. So that shouldn’t be the measuring stick. Fitzy has favored players with playoff experience. So that may be a factor.

I don’t think we should sell low on a good young player just to bring a hometown guy home. Maybe pursue Colton when he hits UFA.

Well yeah look at Palat - Fitzy/Ruff have literally said in press conferences that Palat gets questioned all the time what does it take to win, etc. I'm not saying to trade for Colton because hes from NJ.
